Well, duh. Wishes aren't free. You make an offering when you go to a shrine and pray, right? Same thing!

[He sounds mildly offended that she'd think they're free.]

Nope, it's a flat rate no matter what type of wish it is. I feel that's only fair. Besides, it's not the money that's important, but the faith behind it.

so, you just do things for people but then they like. . . forget you when you leave? their wish comes true but they don't know why?

It depends. Sometimes it's more like in their mind, someone else performs the deeds I do. Like a close friend or coworker or classmate. But other times, yeah, all they know is that things are the way they want it to be.

I mean, they remember me for a time, but then I fade from their consciousness.

[This is why he loves humans... There's so many good ones out there, far outweighing the bad in his mind. She seems a bit like Hiyori in some ways.]

Five yen! That way everybody from even a child can afford to have their wishes listened to. I can't price out the poor or the young!

With that much I could actually afford to build myself a full-sized shrine! That's my goal, to one day have a shrine like the more well-known gods, so people will have an easier time remembering me.
