Especially not an emotion as messy and useless in and of itself as romantic love. Why, you wouldn't want to jeopardize the breakthrough of the ages on account of some fairy tale, would you? Besides, it would be the most unfulfilling of relationships, for you could never be with your beloved test subject. Unless. Unless you broke them out. Such an action would be highly illogical and, more importantly, met with severe punishment. Are they worth all that? How to Play - Your character is either some sort of test subject/creature/weapon/misunderstood and otherwise tortured prisoner of science OR an outside party (scientist, doctor, janitor, visitor, journalist, sky's the limit). They meet their opposite. They fall in love. Bad Shit happens. Nobody's happy. - Comment with your character, preferences, role, info, all the good stuff. - Reply to others. - Be tragic and miserable together.

[If an alien (tentacled) OC is good with you, I'm happy to play Glenn as either a visitor (who is 99% likely to start trying to plot to bust Shadow out if they develop a half-decent rapport,) or Glenn getting captured as a result of wanting answers about himself that he can't seek alone, and just getting caught by those who would prefer to use him rather than aid.

[He was made on another Earth 300 years ago (for him, that year was 3070,) as a government prototype for a humanoid weapon (designated a failure since he showed no signs of any of the traits they found in the space rock they used.)

[Glenn is highly empathetic, and somewhat stupidly trusting, but also equally conniving if the means are equal with the end result (shapeshifting is his bread and butter.) He likes people with strength (physical especially, but any version of such a thing counts,) but those who know when to use it and when not to get extra bonus points; he pack-bonds quickly to those he's taken a shine to. He likes to draw and make things for people he likes. (He also really likes flying bugs and has a single moth-like antenna on his head. He'll eventually grow another.)

[I could see Glenn wanting/hoping to be close (regardless of role) even if Shadow doesn't reciprocate. Even an immortal(?) buddy like him(?) is welcomed. He's been lonely for nearly 3 centuries. :( I also need to organize his info better, but it's all in his info page. (Or it's in the initial one I did that is a MESS agh.)]

[ooc: Heeyyy!! Your character sounds pretty cool! I figured that Shadow was probably recaptured after the events of Sonic 3 (perhaps by an underground rival scientific group, who don't want the military or G.U.N. taking away their chance to experiment on an alien and use his chaos energy for their own gain. Perhaps the head of this group used to work for the G.U.N lab 50 years ago.).

I like the idea of Glenn either being a visitor OR maybe he's a fellow lab rat that forges a bond with Shadow and the two plot to escape together. Glenn could have been at the facility already when Shadow was brought in. Because of Shadow's hostility, he could have been kept under mild sedation at first, so the fact he could connect with Glenn was a complete surprise (even to him). Shadow also still has a lot of unprocessed grief over Maria and what G.U.N. did to him.

I think this has the potential to be a lot of fun! Just let me know if you wanted to do a starter or not, and if you prefer a certain writing style. I prefer prose so I always tend to write in that style, but don't mind matching.]]

[Ohh, double as a pair of captives is a good idea. His ship will probably be also under lock and key given its unique status. He's given parts of himself to his ship in such a way that it's partly alive. It's also home to a lot of varieties of coexisting plants and insects. And basically where he's been living up until this point. He'll also probably be under pretty keen scrutiny, since, relative to its size, Glenn's body has the concussive capacity of a peacock mantis shrimp, if it was a human-size.

[Glenn can also relate to loss. He lost his girlfriend in an accident he caused and then his mother from old age, where he hasn't really aged much since.

[Soji's an extremely sophisticated spy drone shaped like a human grad student. There is no shortage of clandestine operations and secret cabals who want to capture and dissect her for science. I'd love to do a thread with this where she's in the lockup of one organization or another trying to talk her way out. Alternately, both her and her sister have big 'eco-terrorist' energy and are exactly the type of people who would break into labs specifically to free the animals/test subjects.

I am absolutely good with shippy threads, friendship, fluff, or dark themes and violence. Maybe your character is in the lockup and needs saving, maybe they run the place, or maybe they're in the cell next to her talking through the science fiction equivalent of bars. Or they're just breaking in for a completely separate purpose and she can hurriedly try to convince them to unlock her door.

Here for all other Star Treks, AUs, other sci-fi canons, and ocs. My kingdom for some Picard people, though.]

[ okay so main info here BUT moth would SO work for this, in a couple ways.

1) he got pulled through a dimensional rift sort of like what exists in his canon and thus arrived unexpectedly in your character's canon, where he got picked up and is being studied/experimented on because of his differences (he would be labeled as dangerous in this case, undoubtedly there would have been casualties when capturing him, so he'd likely be detained/tied up to keep him from fighting)
2) complete AU in which he's always existed in the same dimension as your character but he is some sort of maybe genetic test subject and his differences are mutations caused by that (in this scenario he'd likely be slightly less fighty but still prickly and wary of others)

feel free to toss ideas at me or discuss or whatever you're feeling! I'm also okay with a love at first sight sort of deal in any of these situations if you wanna get shippy, but it's not mandatory. ]

I'm caught up on all things MCU (except the latest Daredevil, but I'm working on it), so spoilers are okay so long as they're marked for others.]

Aleksi was almost drawn to the loud raised voices behind the closed door because he knew one of them belonged to Dominic. He spent nearly every waking moment alongside the man so could tell that he sounded angry or frustrated. The other voice---was that Damien? Aleksi steeled himself as to what he was walking on, pushing the door open and frowning.

"What the fuck is going on?"

Dominic had blood on his shirt and he was in Damien's face yelling and pushing him. Damien's expression was equally infuriated and it looked like they were about to come to physical blows if it kept up.

"You didn't tell Zack, did you? You hid it?" Dominic was almost growling and even with his minor empathy the room felt heavy with that boiling temper. When Damien didn't say anything Dominic shoved him so hard he stumbled into the wall. "And you're telling me if I can or can't tell Aleksi what I am? You sound like the Ministry still has the claws in you."

That caused Damien to snap and he hit Dominic who barely budge, shaking it off as if it was nothing. "You can't tell him you're part alien, you idiot."

Neither of them seemed aware of Aleksi having stepped into the room. They were too embroiled in their arguement. "I'll tell him whatever I want! If I want to tell him I'm part alien I will when I feel like it."

Damien pushed Dominic away to get some breathing room and that was when he saw Aleksi at the door. Damien's expression went straight from pissed off to oh shit.

Shit. Had they both been fighting? It looked that way, judging by the blood on Dominic's shirt and Damien getting up in his face. Oh no---what the fuck? The Finn just stood there completely confused as to what was going on between the two men. All he did register was the word alien.

Was this a joke? What didn't Zack know? Aleksi felt some anger build inside because they were talking as if he wasn't there.

Dominic saw that expression shift, then heard Aleksi. He turned on Damien who took a step back. He knew better. Knew not to mess with Dominic's generation when they were this mad.

Dominic scowled at Damien but he spoke a little more even toned to Aleksi. "I told you my genetics were manipulated." Sure, he hadn't expressly said he was an alien because he didnt know then that was where the genetics came from. "I have animal genetics too."
