[ the atmosphere between the pair of timelords is thick and heavy, and growing increasingly so with ever passing moment stuck in traffic. the conversation previously had been tense and short and, though no mean words were spoken, it was painfully obvious that both wanted to say them.

the eleventh doctor turns her gaze to the london landscapes: tall, metal buildings, large crowds going to and fro, and blaring horns signaling rage and annoyance due to the traffic congestion. she lightly taps her red nails against the handle of the taxi's door and draws her wool coat closer. ever since she helped him regain his memories on seventeenth century earth, there's been a tension between them -- probably due to how things ended the last time they met.

it was understandable, but it didn't make her any less uncomfortable. after all, with how things were during the year that never was and how that ended, and they didn't exactly have time during christmas to talk about it. basically, there was a lot of history between them and talking about it might help. too bad, the doctor and the master are two closed-off, grumpy grumps, and not even traffic will get them to talk. ]

[Surely there are worse ways for missions to go than being shipwrecked en route long before even reaching the start, but Kanda can't think of any. Especially not when the shipwreck--result of an unusually violent and sudden overnight storm--has left him and Lavi alone and adrift on what might once have been the poop deck of the ship they were on.

There's been no sign of the crew, and for all Kanda knows (or cares) they could all have been lost at sea. Or maybe they're all fine and it's only him and Lavi who are lost. Either way, their impromptu raft is drifting steadily along, carrying them to god knows where, and even if they knew what course to set, they would have no way of setting it.

So basically, the day is off to a great start and Kanda is in a mood to match it. He's sitting cross-legged with Mugen resting across his lap and glowering at the horizon like it's done him some personal offense. He's irritated with the water, with the sun, with the sea air, and with Lavi. (Mostly he's irritated with Lavi because none of this is Lavi's fault which means that Kanda can't blame him for it, despite the fact that he'd really like to be able to blame someone. But Lavi's the only person here, and since he's not to blame that also, in a backwards kind of way, makes him responsible for the lack of catharsis that Kanda would get from having someone to blame. However you cut it, Lavi's coming out on the bottom and Kanda is just in a foul mood.)

There's nothing for them to do but keep an eye out and wait. If they're lucky, they'll drift towards land or in view of another ship before too long.]

He's had the date circled on his calendar since he bought it (because, on acquiring a calendar, the first thing he does it make note of important dates; he generally doesn't need the reminder, but there's a sense of satisfaction to be found in organization), and took meticulous stock of the items and prices as soon as they were available.

Understand: Ishida Uryuu does not take sales slightly, especially not of this magnitude.

Note: the change in him, the unexpected and fierce killing intent with which he surveys the crowd behind them. Every other day of the year, he might avoid and scorn masses of people, gathered together like sheep.

Not this day.

And, well -- Inoue-san had mentioned that her microwave was beginning to cross over into another dimension to assist in the robot rebellion, which Uryuu eventually understood to mean she'd soon need a replacement.

Now, both of them were handcuffed to a wall, in shoddy handcuffs that Keith, anyway, had almost broken out of already, but the whole process of being abducted, well. Fuck that.

[ Everything had happened so fast - it was some kind of party that Green really had no interest in attending, but for the sake of his friends he decided to at least show his face before wandering off to train somewhere isolated. That had been before Blue grabbed his wrist, shoved a finger trap on the end of it, and someone had done the same to the girl he now found himself awkwardly attached to.

Once they'd gotten over their simultaneous indignation and tried to yank themselves out of it (nearly dislocating both of their fingers in the process when the 'push your hands together and then slowly pull them apart' trick didn't work as it was supposed to) it became obvious that this situation wasn't going to resolve itself quickly, and Green finds himself looking around the area with a sharp gaze. ]
