Well, they make you want to be a better person. This desire could have been a gradual realization, or you could have suddenly decided one day to improve. In the same vein, you may want a complete overhaul, yet you could also be more realistic and try to work on one thing. Still, you know that you're the only one who can change yourself.

How is that going? It can't be easy, as old habits die hard. Do you have a supportive loved one — or someone who wants nothing to do with you, no matter how much you improve?

[Ducky works with a vigilante group, and is their strategist and spymaster. Her methods are sneaky, underhanded and manipulative, and she's called out for it more than once in canon. Do you take issue with how she uses people? Find her cloying and opaque? Hate how even after years of knowing her, you don't really know shit about her? Perhaps she might open up to you.]

[Logan has been a king, a tyrant specifically, and now he's trying to work out being a prince, and a generally better man. Which is difficult when the paranoia and authority has been so ingrained. There are a good few bad habits to work out.]

Logan understands protocol intimately. Growing up, there had been a protocol for everything, from getting up in the morning to stepping outside for a walk. Naturally he had made an appointment with the man whose private collection contained books Logan was eager to scour. He had even confirmed it the day before.

Which made it all the more frustrating when he and Zoey had arrived promptly, not too early and certainly not late, and yet they had been forced to wait. And wait.

And wait.

Initially Logan had been patient, but when the agreed upon time came and went? That patience began to run out fast. At first it was just a tapping of his fingers, then a drumming, and then a glowering. He'd ended up asking after their appointment three times. Three! Before finally being told that this... stupid, insolent, fop of a man... had made other arrangements. Without telling him. Without apologising. Enraged doesn't cover Logan's response.

"Where is he?"

"I'm afraid I can't share that. If you like-..." The poor woman delivering the news seems to have had quite a bit of practice with cancelling appointments like this.

It doesn't make Logan any less angry, and his fury is not quite as well concealed when he repeats himself. "Where is he?"

"I really can't say. I can leave him a message..."

"Tell me where he is and I can deliver the message myself," Logan bites back.

Zoey had been content to let Logan take the lead. He’s more familiar with protocol, after all, and she tends to not much follow it when she IS familiar with it. So she sets herself back a few steps as he’d made the appointment, and as they’d arrived promptly for the appointment that had been made.

Then they waited.

And waited.

And she watches as his patience drains away as they continue to wait. She’d have to be BLIND to miss the fury simmering away barely contained, and she deftly slips up beside him, curling her hand around his even as she keeps her attention on the woman whose doing her level best to turn them away. Easy.

“What could be so important that he would make other arrangements without so much as an apology?” she asks lightly. Even as she notes the keys the other woman carries. If she can't get them by disparaging their social standing and appearance, she can always get them a way in by other means.

The touch distracts him for a moment, drawing his attention to Zoey's hand and then her face. But then the other woman is speaking again and his focus returns.

"You would have to ask him yourself," she says, perhaps not intending Logan's swift response.

"I intend to." It sounds as much a threat as a promise.

"But you will have to do so another day," she continues. "You can leave a message with me, or call to rearrange a visit."

Logan can't help but find himself horrified at the situation. He's a prince, for Avo's sake! He's never been so casually dismissed like this before! Not by someone who should know better, at least! His hands go to curl into fists, except the one Zoey has a hold of doesn't quite manage to, and that flusters him all the more.
