[ Jim is not used to spending a lot of time with well... anyone... Having a girlfriend is so WEIRD. Girls usually kept away from his constantly-on-the-brink-of-jail ass and his grumpy attitude.

But... Ariel's so nice. She's such a sweet person and he feels strangely happy around her. He can forget things for a little while when he musters up the courage to hold her hand.

She actually likes the junkyard and he's taken her there today to just kind of hang out. His mom would scold him about it, if he even bothered to tell her he was dating someone (she didn't need that on her plate), but it worked for them, right?

He hopes. Unless she's humoring him. Oh god, what if she's humoring his punk-looking ass? He heaves a stressed sigh, blowing some of his hair up and out of his face.

[It's funny how things get twisted around in your life. You think you know what human beings are. What they're capable of. But then you're being shared between a blonde vampire and her sire, who she'd helped sire years ago. Darla takes care of him, he ...he can't take care of either of them and that thought frustrates the hell out of him. She calls him Darla's pet cow.

He's got big cow eyes. Big and black. moo.

It's like playing with a family pet that could rip out your throat but he's not afraid. He wants to prove it to Darla. To himself. And that's what this meal is about. His plastic hand on the table, his other hand clumsily shoving salad into his mouth as he smiles at her. He's theirs. That's what they keep saying.

And each day the fear lessens just a little bit.

It's heightened today though. He can't think why. Maybe it's because Darla's not here. Maybe because Drusilla could decide arbitrarily that the moon told her to kill him.

[ He can't do this anymore. He really can't. The long drives from town to town are only broken up by short hours sleeping in old motel room beds. It had been different when it was just him and Dean, but with Faith along for the ride the dynamic changed a bit. She and Dean got on well enough, actually too well for Sam's ego when he was often the butt of the jokes, but he takes it all in stride.

But this...this is becoming too much. They check into yet another room and Dean goes to unload the car. Sam takes the opportunity to stop Faith's stride with a hand to her bicep. ]

Amy wasn't sure where things were going between her and the Doctor lately. Mixed signals were everywhere, admittedly she was throwing them at him as well. Mostly it was because she wasn't sure if he felt the same way as she did, and rather than make herself vulnerable to what could possibly be rejection, she'd much rather reject him first.

Grabbing herself an ice lolly from the ice cream van, Amy walked back over to the Doctor and took a seat next to him on the park bench. "You sure you don't want anything?" Amy asked, waving the ice lolly in front of him before pulling it back and taking a lick.

[ It was hard to believe how long it had been since they had all gotten together. After all they had parted ways, and had gone into significantly different walks of life from their old time cop ways. But last night had been fairly enjoyable, and they've matured quite a bit--Well, if you count a relative lack of squabbling as mature. The party was still quite clearly segregated to 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. Some things never change.

Of course there were also the few people who didn't separate following the end of their duty. Alpha and Gamma were among them. They had an... interesting relationship to be sure. It shocked their teammates who never learned about it earlier. Someone as flamboyant and loud as Gamma with the considerably more reserved Alpha...

It was a little tough on Gamma too, him being needy as he was, and he ended up being more affectionate at the gathering with his teammates than was probably comfortable to watch by the other teams. In particular he was assuring Dhanna she certainly would find another boyfriend soon with her looks, even twirling a lock of her hair in his hand; and the two laughed about it. Just playful banter--as the two were really more like siblings--but would Alpha have seen it that way? ]

Hmm~ good morning.

[ He yawns, which was something he probably wouldn't have so casually done if it were anyone other than his boyfriend. They were having breakfast together, though in retrospect maybe they should have scheduled lunch instead. Gamma still looked pretty sleepy. ]
