❄ snowfall
snowfall;
stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios;
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧ |

[ Damn it - mornings were just not a good time. He sighs to himself, counting to regain his patience and waiting for Quatre to get up. Once he's up and moving for the milk he'll try to move to try and hook his arm around Quatre's waist, eager to make it up to the blonde as soon as possible, even if his breakfast got a little cold. ]
Quatre -

I'm going to go back to the bedroom and eat. Make sure that Helen gets her bath...

Quatre... [ Duo sighs, pulling the blonde in to gently kiss his neck, a soft apology for his snappy tone before he gets to the real one. He has no intention of letting Quatre sneak away to the bedroom if he can at all help it. Not with Helen there to see, and certainly not on their family snow day. ]
I'm sorry, sweetheart. Stay out here with us.. please?

... Alright.

[ Helen senses their sudden tension, and seems very focused on her meal, though the tight, nervous expression on her face gives away all that she isn't saying. Thankfully it's very rare when Duo and Quatre actually fight, and because of the way Helen reacts... he's glad that most times they sort of just... dissolve it until they could talk it out later so as not to stress her out.
Duo wraps his arms around him gently, kissing the side of Quatre's head. ]
Thank you, baby. [ Another kiss. ] Let's go eat.

Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like if we'd decided to live on a colony instead....
[ He attempts to shift conversation and attention away from the past few minutes as swiftly as possible. ]

[ Unfortunately, with two gundam pilots in one house, and their unerring ability to sometimes get irked for no other reason than perhaps restlessness, maybe just being grumpy in the morning, whatever the excuse was - they were bound to fight from time to time. However, having a daughter who was already a little fragile didn't make anything any easier, by anyone's terms.
Duo hums at the posed theory, thoughtfully staring out the window. ]
Well, for one, the weather wouldn't ever be a surprise... [ A little laugh. ] But I like that, about Earth. As much as I miss space, there's something just... really, really nice about not having scheduled weather and predictable seasons...

It's nice to have everything moving on its own. It doesn't matter what humans do or how much they try to seize control... the planet is always the victor in the end.

Yeah.... you're lucky, you know, Helen. [ Duo smiles at her as the little girl looks up, seeming to not really understand why she's so 'lucky' under his estimation. There hadn't really been many chances to take her to the colonies for long spans of time because of school, and all, plus little kids didn't really pay attention to differences in weather and the like on space colonies. ]
I didn't put my feet on dirt until I was 15, you know that? and you really can't play in the snow on the colonies, it just melts right away.

[ Helen smiles, sensing the compliment, though not quite understanding it with her father's word choice. It sounds like something good, at least. ]

But, hey, we can always enjoy it now, even if we are older, right, Quat? [ Duo smiles, watching his husband for a moment, reaching over to give his thigh a little squeeze. They'd made this great breakfast with which to celebrate Quatre's day off and the snow day, and he'd make his little snap of temper up to Quatre later, when Helen was taking a nice long nap after playing in the snow. He was already planning on it. ]
So, what does everyone think we should do on our snow day, hm?
