❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧

[She giggles again as she walks into the kitchen (unlike Chris, she's wearing socks), wrapping her arms around his waist and nuzzling his back.]

Mm well, I'm sorry...

[He smiled, turning in her hold to kiss her softly, then lightly tapping her nose.]

It's fine. Apparently I just need to spot check more often.

[She smiles, though scrambles to catch the blanket before it falls off her shoulders.]

[He helps, his hands jumping a little and snagging the cover. Glancing at her, he chuckled a little.]

Let's go refresh the fire a little.

[She smiles, pulling the blanket closer as she nods.] Sounds good.

[He smiled and backed out of her hold with a final little squeeze, then padded his way across the kitchen again, gratefully hopping back onto warmer, carpeted flooring.]

[She giggled softly as she followed him back into the living room. Reluctantly she places the blanket back on the couch before going to the fireplace, using the poker to move around the ashes to make room for another log.]

[He comes over after a few moments and kneels down, easing one log into the fire and putting another nearby, in case they needed it.

Smiling at Fluttershy, he went back to where they had been sitting earlier and settled in, then opened one arm and gestured for her to join him.]

[Once she's sure the fire's going well and strong, she puts the poker back. Then, turning back to Chris, she hops up onto couch with a giggle, leaning into his side and stretching out a bit.]

[He smiled and nuzzled into her, casually resting his arm around her.]

[She smiled, resting her head on his shoulder and cuddling against him with a soft, satisfied sound.]

[He slipped his tail around her and smiled, closing his eyes partway with a contented smile.]

[She shivered a little, her hands playing a little with the tip of his tail.]

[He glanced at her, then aside at where the blanket is.

At the other end of the couch.

Without trying to disrupt the cuddling too much he leans, stretching out an arm for it, and... not even coming close, pretty much just grabbing air.]

[She blinks a little, then giggles and sits up a bit to grab the blanket herself. Resting back against his side, she spreads the blanket over them both, then continues playing with his tail.]

[He laughed a bit, smirking wryly at her.]

Well fine, if you wanted to get it then...

[She laughed.] Chris, the only way you were going to get it is if I had gotten off you anyway...

You don't know that. I could've found other ways to get it.

Well, you probably could have reached it with your tail, but... [She smiled playfully.] I kind of like where your tail is right now...

[As she strokes the tip.]

[A little tingle went down his tail and he snickered in his throat.]

Not exactly what I meant...

[And his eyes glow with a light completely apart from the fire. The flickering shadows around them jumped and then a few on the couch crawled, closing in around them. Chris just smirks and lifts his eyebrows, while casually folding his legs up onto the couch with him.]

[She squeaks a little, surprised when the shadows show up. While she knew he could do that, he didn't do it often enough for her to remember.

Pulling the blanket down a little, she glanced back at Chris curiously.]

[He tucked his arm around her and closed his eyes, looking rather nonchalant as the darkness neared.

Then a couple shadowy tendrils slipped down over her shoulders, lovingly tucking the blanket up around her.]

[She blinks a little, then smiles, relaxing against Chris as the shadows tuck the blanket around her.]
