WHAT TO DO
— Comment with your character and any preferences in the subject line.
— Reply to others using one or more of the prompts below as inspiration.
— LBR, we all know how this works by now.

1. ACCIDENTAL MARRIAGE.
Whether it's the classic 'waking up in Vegas' story or a magic ritual gone wrong, the characters are now bound for eternity. Better find a way to undo it -- it's not like they're going to fall in love or anything.

2. AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES.
For one reason or another, the characters are roommates, or housemates, or tentmates. Will they get along or argue over whose turn it is to do the dishes?

3. ARRANGED MARRIAGE / MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE.
Unlike the accidental marriage, this one was fully intentional. Whether it was arranged against their will for someone else's gain or a purposeful decision on their part, the characters are now in a totally platonic marriage. Unless...???

4. BODYSWAP.
The Freaky Friday. Due to forces unknown, the characters have swapped bodies. Can they work together to undo whatever magic got them here?

5. BOUND TOGETHER.
Characters are either physically bound together, such as by handcuffs, or magically bound together by some sort of soulbond. Either way, they won't be going anywhere without each other any time soon.

6. FAKE DATING / MARRIAGE.
The ultimate in fanfic tropes, the pretend relationship. You all know how this works -- just make sure to cut it off before anyone catches real feelings.

7. FANCY BALL.
Maybe characters are undercover for a heist or some other clandestine operation. Maybe they got dragged here by a friend. Maybe they're just attending for fun! No matter what, everyone is dressed to the nines.

8. HUDDLING FOR WARMTH / SNOWED IN.
Baby, it's cold outside! Better cuddle to stay warm.

9. INJURED.
One or both characters has been injured (seriously or not) and needs some TLC. Hope you have a first aid kit handy!

10. ONLY ONE BED.
Oh, no -- looks like we've only got one room left, and it's only got one bed. You guys are cool with sharing, right?

11. SOULMATES.
A trope that most commonly revolves around characters with soulmate marks that determine who their One True Love will be. Other options include psychic links, reincarnation, and more!

12. STRANDED.
Characters are stranded somewhere together -- in the wilderness, in the desert, on a remote planet. They'll have to depend on each other to get out of this, and maybe bond a little along the way.

13. STUCK IN AN ELEVATOR.
The elevator's stuck, and no one's coming. Looks like you've got a lot of time to kill. Maybe you could strike up a conversation?

14. UNDERCOVER.
The characters are on a secret mission and no one can know their identities. Hey, that fake mustache is falling off!

[When the world was re-written in season 3, did Delores get herself a human life? Is she just human somehow, in that handwavey TUA fuckery way? Or is this an alternate timeline where she was always human? They’re all possibilities and I’m here for mucking around with all of them as I figure her out and explore things. (I think the suddenly a real girl option/variations thereof is my favourite, though.) Not interested in body swap, especially if we're going with the mannequin to real girl AU because she's already trying to get used to her new body. Adding in getting used to someone else's might be too much. Voicetesting.]

[Voicetesting and brushing the dust off! Fine for gen or shipping. Shipping is 25+ ota, preferably characters who have some bite, strength, or spine to them. Down for arranged marriage in some AU idk, undercover, snowed in/huddling for warmth (he's a big tough mandalorian but he grew up on a desert world ok he's not built for this in malfunctioning armor), stranded, stuck in an elevator, or soulmates. If none of these appeal, Bring Your Own Tropey Bullshit. Time travel is definitely a self-indulgent fanfic trope too, right? 🤔]

[Hey, want to do option 8? I've always headcanoned that Soubi runs really hot and is basically a human furnace, but we know from canon that Ritsuka likes to bundle up nice and warm in cold weather...]

[Well, the first big snowstorm of the year has hit the Tokyo area. It's actually come as a surprise: up until this morning, the weather forecast was predicting overcast skies, but minimal precipitation. By now, though, those predictions have changed. Now it's 10:00 in the morning and the snow is coming down in a heavy, silent torrent; the meteorologists on the local news station are warning residents to expect at least 30 centimeters of snow to accumulate over the next twelve hours. Residents are being advised to stay home unless absolutely necessary due to the white-out visibility conditions and slippery roads - and of course, all schools have been let out early.

This might normally have been a problem for Ritsuka, whose mother cannot be expected to come to pick him up like most of his classmates. She probably hasn't even heard the news that the school has been closed. But Ritsuka has been saved the stress of having to wait at school for a parent who will never come: instead, Soubi is there to pick him up, right on time with the other adults.

And so they have trudged together back to Soubi's apartment, one cold and windy kilometer away. Soubi, of course, has ended the walk with a small mound of snow on top of the hood of his coat - he did remember to bring an umbrella this time, but only so that he could hold it over Ritsuka's head rather than his own. As he turns the key in the lock on the side door to his apartment, he smiles down at his Sacrifice.]

Our clothes will dry quickly once we're inside. What shall we have, Ritsuka - tea, or hot chocolate?

[The sudden cancellation of classes sent Ritsuka and the other children clamoring outside, mouths agape in awe at the ever falling snow. He stood silent at the gate, watching the backs of his schoolmates as they trudged free through the snow alongside their parents or older siblings. Even Yuiko’s mother was able to leave work to pick her up, much to Yuiko’s joy.

Ritsuka naturally assumed he’d walk home by himself, but Soubi surprised him. Ritsuka somehow almost missed his tall figure only a few feet away. It was Yuiko who noticed Soubi first, calling out both a hello and goodbye.

Ritsuka gawked, actually surprised. How did he know to come? Common sense? Or, more realistically for Soubi, maybe it was the bond thingy? Admittedly, Ritsuka might have been thinking of him, at least subconsciously. Soubi’s apartment was perfect to look out and watch the snow fall and blanket the ground. Perfect to curl up with blankets and a hot drink. School would probably close tomorrow, too. He could relax. He wouldn’t have to spend a snow day stuck in his own house, with the stale and tense air, alone.

The walk to Soubi's apartment was cold and wet, not altogether pleasant. The snow was nice to watch, though, bright and shimmering. Before Soubi can let them inside, Ritsuka grabs the sleeve of his coat.]

Hot chocolate. Also, you’re about to carry some snow in with you, dummy. [He stares pointedly at the tiny hill on Soubi’s hood, unable to keep back a grin.]

[It is a bit of a mystery, isn't it, how Soubi seems to know when Ritsuka needs him? He may have memorized Ristuka's schedule well enough to know when his school lets out each day, or on which days he's most likely to walk to the library with Yuiko - but that doesn't explain how he sometimes appears on the landing outside Ritsuka's window, smiling innocently, just when Ritsuka is thinking about texting him. It certainly doesn't explain how he can show up in places like the school science lab out of nowhere when Ritsuka is in danger. Even if he can somehow sense where to find him through their bond, it doesn't explain how he gets past school security, or avoids being questioned by adults who are supposed to keep Ritsuka and his classmates safe from strangers. But it's no use asking Soubi: whatever magical Fighter tricks he may be using, he's been consistent about keeping them a secret, even from his Sacrifice. (Or maybe especially from his Sacrifice.)

And now, it looks like Soubi is not only capable of picking Ritsuka up almost at a moment's notice: he's also prepared for this eventuality. Just as Ritsuka answer's Soubi's question, Soubi opens the door into his studio apartment - and the rich, warm smell of cocoa is immediately noticeable. Is there just a hint of smugness in the smile that plays on Soubi's lips as he gestures for Ritsuka to enter before him?]

Oh, thank you, Ritsuka. I almost forgot.

[He's referring to the fact that he almost brought a small pile of snow into the apartment with him. Standing there on the doorstep in his long, dark grey coat, wisps of his pale hair plastered around the sides of his face by the melting snow and a tapering cone of snow on the top of his head, he looks kind of like a very stylized Mount Fuji.]

I'll just...

[And with that he takes off his coat in one movement, out there on the snowy stoop. He shakes it out so that the snow cascades off of the deflated hood, then folds the coat neatly over his arm. He shows no sign of reacting to the icy cold around him as he does this, even when a gust of wind blows the falling snow right against the side of his exposed face. Only after this does he step inside behind Rituska.]

[As Ritsuka steps inside, the warmth of Soubi’s apartment soothes his red, flushed-cold cheeks. The scent of hot cocoa triggers a little tug of his lips. He can practically taste the chocolate, warm and rich on his tongue. He hopes silently for the involvement of marshmallows.

But then he’s distracted by Soubi’s show of effortlessly removing his coat and the pile of snow. After witnessing Soubi’s swift movements, more skeptical considerations begin to creep up inside, along with the more positive emotions he’s experiencing. Like, sure, he’s comforted by the hot cocoa waiting for him. Part of him feels assured by the sentiment of Soubi’s uncanny awareness of what Ritsuka wants, or needs, and his eagerness to fulfill those wants. Or needs. Still, he can’t fully allow himself to bask in this comfort. He has to question if it’s really okay to be okay… with all of that. With Soubi’s… dedication. A mild way to put it.

Along with the comfort and doubt, there’s a degree of frustration. Soubi is, for the most part, a natural airhead. But he can also be weirdly, maddeningly adept.

Ritsuka unwraps his scarf, kicks his boots off, removes his earmuffs. Then he looks up at Soubi, squinting.]

You’re kind of a show-off.
