He was a farmer. [ A polite laugh. ] The older I get the more I think he had the right of it. An adventurous life is praised too highly.

A simple life is appealing, but I don't think I've thrown off my wanderlust yet. There's just too much to see. Still, the thought of putting down roots is often there in the back of my mind.

Have you done much adventuring?

Perhaps some adventuring, then putting down roots? [ Common enough tale. With age comes slowing down, craving peace. ]

Yes. I'm a soldier. I've been stationed in many places, often the sort that find themselves the stage of...historically significant events. Such is my luck. [ Why he craves peace these days. ]

Probably something like that. I've had some adventures - funny enough, I can relate to being around, um, historically significant events. [ And being the cause of a couple, herself. ]

Maybe striking a balance. Adventure, with a place to call home, somewhere to return to.

It's frustrating, isn't it? Exciting too. But mostly frustrating.

The best of both worlds. It seems so idyllic. I'm not sure it exists.

Pretty frustrating. But yeah, I'd be lying if I tried to say it wasn't at least a little fun, too.

It feels like something I could work for. Quite a lot of work, but worth it if it pays off.

If a part of us didn't enjoy it we wouldn't keep doing it. We complain because we care.

And nothing worth doing is easy. More the reason to try.

That's true. Part of loving something is wanting to see it improve and thrive.

The best things are absolutely worth the effort. Quick and easy can really only get you so far.
