The Headcanon Meme

What is a muse, but a muse? While there may be canonical facts that every character shares, how we interpret certain aspects of their personalities and actions can definitely differ. Or perhap your muse is a creation of your own devising, someone from an AU verse, or have been around long enough to diverge from what is known.

Whatever the case, we all have our own little facts and pieces for our characters that we may not have the opportunity to share. Now's you chance.

--- How to: ---
1. Leave a comment with your character name, series and any number of personal headcanon facts you care to share.

2. That's it.

Taken from here and modified.

Morticia Addams | The Addams Family

[personal profile] madamemorticia 2013-08-08 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Morticia has a very wide ethnic mix in her genealogy. Judging by the tv show, this includes being part Jewish (given that she sometimes speaks in Yiddish) and partly descended from Lovecraft characters (since her family comes from Salem and she went to high school in a swamp.)

Cecil - Welcome to Night Vale

[personal profile] communitysupported 2013-08-08 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
One downside of Cecil having one of the most open minds in Night Vale means that he is one of the most easily possessed people in the town. The fact that he's a well known radio personality in Night Vale doesn't help -- possessing him means a higher likelihood the message will be heard.

Runner Five | Zombies, Run!

[personal profile] quintuscursor 2013-08-08 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
The reason Runner Five never seems to speak to anyone at Abel Township (or at all, really) is due to some kind of social phobia.
bondsoflove: (I will let you down)

Sasuke Uchiha | Naruto

[personal profile] bondsoflove 2013-08-08 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sasuke, from childhood, has suffered from either GAD or panic disorder. He is insecurely attached, which essentially tripled his chances of developing PTSD. Which, of course, he did, in spades.

He is also bipolar, which mostly manifests in mixed affective episodes and occasionally becomes severe enough to include psychotic symptoms (hallucinations of his younger self tearing him down, paranoia, delusions of grandeur, etc).

He can sing, although he never does.

When he was little, one of his favorite things to do was to help his mother in the kitchen. He used cooking after the massacre as a self-soothing technique.

He is smarter than Itachi, but the intensity and instability of his emotions hides this under a mask of irrationality.

He's a four on the Kinsey scale.
aceinthehood: (Heck if I know)

Red Hood | Batman: Brave and the Bold

[personal profile] aceinthehood 2013-08-08 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
So much headcanon for this oneshot boy:

His real name is Jack Napier. His friends call him Jackie.

He was trained by mirror!R'as al Ghul, who unbeknownst to him also trained his nemesis Owlman a decade prior. That's why he's one of the few people who can stand up to Owlman in combat.

He has a massive unspoken crush on Harleen Quinzel, head of Arkham Asylum.

He's BFFs with Jim "Gentleman Ghost" Craddock. They met when Jim was trying to pick up a blind woman at a bar.

He lives in a theater. The dressing room has been converted into a tiny apartment, and most of what he eats is take-out or delivery.

He makes his own costumes. All of them. Occasionally he reorganizes his closet by categories like musical era and degree of fanciness.

His major life inspirations include Lady Gaga and the Riddler.

He eventually gains three henchpeople who he names Alto, Soprano, and Bass. They think he's weird but harmless enough, and he pays fairly well since he doesn't have to worry about money.

Regulus Black || Harry Potter

Sad Headcanons
* A combination of his (abusive/neglectful) childhood and a family history of mental illness has made it so he can be considered majorly depressed (almost suicidal) by the time he was 15/16. His death in the cave was more of a suicide than a sacrifice.
* Growing up, he was emotionally dependent on Sirius. So much so that it left him with abandonment issues when Sirius claimed James as his brother and ran away. Regulus has a hard to letting this go.
* Regulus hates being compared to Sirius as he feels he doesn't match up (He feels he's not as smart/powerful/attractive as Sirius)
* He's very promiscuous because sex =/= love to him and he uses sex as a replacement for emotional affection. He doesn't care if he's being used for sex because, most likely, he's the one using the other.
* The major reason he joined the Death Eaters was in the hope of finding a purpose/meaning to his life. It did not work and, needless to say, made everything worse.
* his Boggart is Mother/Father/Sirius telling him he's worthless and should just kill himself.

Happier Headcanons
* Regulus is very skilled at Charms and would be very good at Care of Magical Creatures if he actually took that class. (Walburga thought the class was beneath the Black family)
* He has a very old, very fat, very fluffy grey half-Kneazle named Samson. Samson tends to sleep on whatever book Regulus happens to need and either openly glares or stares pointedly at most people Regulus's knows.
* The sorting hat seriously considered putting Regulus in Ravenclaw but decided Slytherin was best.
* The only girl Regulus has ever had a proper crush on is Narcissa - who also happens to be his favorite cousin.
* if he was able to cast a Patronus, it would be a Lion. And he would be extremely embarrassed by this.
* he can be very loyal and loving if ever given the chance to be.
* He's very fond of the large black dog he sometimes meets on the Hogwarts grounds. He's not sure where it came from but it's friendly enough. He was very sad when it stopped showing up his last few years at Hogwarts.

History is written by the winners:

The descendants of the Nephilim still live. The Nephilim were given a choice:

"You and your children, and your children's children will be bound into slavery unto the ending of the world, or ye shall perish to the least of you." The Nephilim agreed, and were bound.

And so the Vessels were born.

Members of the Drasnian intelligence service are automatically bumped to the bottom of any line of succession they may be a part of when they enter the Academy. Removing any real risk of his getting near the throne was more a side effect of joining the service than anything else, but he wasn't exactly upset.

Despite what he might claim when questioned, the death of Dorak Urgas was entirely intentional. There were various pretexts, but he was originally sent to Rak Goska to pick off some of the more undesirable potential future kings: another three Murgo princes happened to die while he was in the city, but it was assumed to be just part of the rough and tumble of the succession squabble. Of course the Dransnian government couldn't be seen to be involved in anything like that, so when the Tolnedrans interfered and everything went south, he was on his own. Hence the price on his head.

He first met Yarblek during a purposely vague incident involving some stolen documents that both of them refuse to fully explain to anyone. Silk was eighteen and still at the Academy; technically it was a field exercise and he was only supposed to observe, but when an opportunity arose he decided to take it. His instructors were not amused.

When he refers to to Academys's now discontinued practice of employing flogging as a punishment as "a very effective teaching technique", he's speaking from personal experience.

He was only mildly uncomfortable in enclosed spaces before being captured in Cthol Murgos. That entire incident (and the unorthodox method of escape in particular) was what tipped it over into a full-blown phobia.

When he was in his twenties he spent two years in Mallorea on a long-term intelligence gathering assignment. In order to be able to move around freely without attracting attention he joined up with a travelling circus: initially as a knife thrower, later as an acrobat. This is where he picked up most of the more flamboyant parts of his fighting style.

You could count on your fingers how many times he's worn armour. He hates wearing it and will avoid it at all costs. It's heavy, clumsy, and loud, and he wants nothing to do with it.

He and Porenn have known each other since they were children. They were good friends before things went and got complicated.

When he's not paying attention, he occasionally forgets to answer to his own name. He's been "Silk" in his own head for a long time now.
