Whether you're trying to make someone jealous, trying to work through a stealth job without getting caught, or trying to ward off someone a little too handsy at the bar, you're dating.
Not really, of course. You're just pretending for as long as necessary. Never mind that their warmth is nice against you, or kissing feels nice, or your heart skips a beat while being around them then drops at the thought of going back to normal. Whether this is a fake it until you make it situation or one where you both fall flat on your faces is up to you! Get out there and fake some dates, trick some strangers, fall in love.
( m/m or previous cr. can do fake dating/relationship as part of a mission or one of them getting blindsided to help the other dodge some unwanted attention. )
It's only a party. As long as we can get in to the upper level, everything can be left to me, and you can leave.
( to enter these parties, clubs, or whatever they are, they'd need to enter via invitation and as a pair. for now, "ms. kimberly" doesn't mind doing that, it sounds simple enough by using this person to make her way to the top. whoever he is, she's guessing that he was the first person chosen for the job besides, who wouldn't take payment and do something as simple as this for one night.
it'll be a long night, but one that will reap benefits and rewards for him if he's able to see it through. as for what kimberly has to do once she gets to the top, she's not sure if it's information to be discussed with him. he's third party person who doesn't hold much weight here, but because he knows the norms of this era, is a vital piece to help her complete her job successfully. )
Ah, yes... I didn't get your name, they were talking so fast earlier.
( truth be told, she was thinking about food at that time, and so anything else said to her only went through one ear and out the other. what she does know is the toy that was dangled before her and a command "kill them as soon as you reach the top, kimberly". )
Or should I call you only my "boyfriend" at these parties?
[ it mostly started as a joke - maybe a half serious one, at most; vash has always been too sociable to a fault, knowing a friend of a second cousin of somebody who went to the same school with this other person, so naturally he kind of drifted into being the sort of guy who's here to just have a good time and make other people have a great time too. he doesn't have an ad up or anything like that, and he definitely doesn't charge exorbitant amount per hour or event or any of the things that other people in similar line of business tack on. no, he just has a copy paste google docs agreement that a friend of his found for him, and it just travels through word of mouth.
a wedding is easy enough - and since the recommendation has come through from a friend of a partner of a colleague of his brother (he's not really sure on the exact details, but whatever), he's pretty sure it's not gonna be weird.
nicholas d. wolfwood.
looks nice on print, even though he wonders what kind of person he is. maybe older and crabby? he can deal with that. socially awkward and grim? ditto, as long as it's got an open bar and half decent band. like he said, weddings are easy.
there'll be good food at the wedding and the groom plays sax so the music will fuck. alrighty then. done!
vash scrolls through the rest of the random questions his brother has made him put in just so they know this isn't some weird basement dwelling serial killer, skipping out on reading most of it, and sends a template (but personalised!!!!) asking for a face to face meet-cute, smiley heart faces included. nothing too ostentatious - just a local cafe that a cousin of his friend's boss runs, so they give him free pastries on the house with his coffee - nice and casual, not intimidating at all.
he turns up early, not because he is punctual but mostly because he wants to stuff the complementary jam donut in his mouth and clean himself up before the guy arrives - and the said donut is already bulging the side of his mouth as he looks around for a likely table to sit down and look out for his appointment. ]
[[Probably either for publicity reasons, or for some kind of information gathering/trying to get in position to go after someone. Or maybe just warding off Sparrow fangirls.]]
[So for some reason or another having to do with crime, the Wright Agency is on the job! And for this task in specific, Aqua has to not only go on dates with someone, but be seen with them, by paparazzi and fan alike.
That's why they're specifically sitting outside of the pretty little roof-top cafe they're at, plenty visible from well-known snapshot spots all around. Maya is curled up in one of the metal seats, knees in the chair, leaned over the table and sipping from a straw while she taps a few buttons on her flip smartphone.]
Do you think we should get a picture together too?
[She's been pretty content to participate in this little exercise, considering she gets to have so much fun doing it. Dressing up in cute clothes, hanging out and doing fun stuff with a cute celebrity, secretly investigating a crime and compiling notes with Aqua and Phoenix after hours... sure, the crime thing is something to take seriously, but things can ALSO still be fun! And anyway, the more fun they have, the more believable it is.]
( info, she's a disgraced kpop star who's trying to take down her label so maybe she's fake dating to get in the public's good graces again. or she's just being chaotic idk. f/m. )
