Run away with me
![]() The two of you have decided to run away together. Bottom line, you've come up with that plan and you've worked up the guts and the means to do it. The most obvious source of a desire to leave together is a romance you can't have until you're gone from this place. It's like all the eloping that happened in those epics of old. How charmingly beautiful! How romantic! Who says the old ways have gone out of style? But other reasoning behind the decision could be from the serious - you both want to escape imprisonment, an oppressive atmosphere, or a miserable destiny - to the more lighthearted. Maybe an adventure is just what you need, where you'll finally get to see the world...and, slowly, fall in love. Because that's what the crux of all this is: even if the escape started out as mere convenience, you both want to stay close and work together. In the end, when you've finally run where you want to be and the danger, if any, has passed, you may find you don't want to go your separate ways.

When he's let go, he rubs his chin before reaching up to take off the hat Ivan has on and ruffling his hair. pushing it to part on the right instead of the usual left. It made the man look drastically different. Then puts the hat back on, adjusting it to help hold the new style in place. He then pulls and messes up the niceness of Ivan's shirt collar to make it look more casual and less... nice.
Finally he nods.]
You look good. Okay, I'm your girl, so hold me like one, okay?
[He's seen people hold each other when walking around. They might not have many words or much understanding of what love is, but... he gets that that's something.]
no subject
The more he looked at then, though, the more he wondered what it would be like to put his hands on them and--
Ivan looks up and at Till's face when he begins to speak again. He reaches up, taking the face mask half off to let it dangle as he smiled at Till.]
You'll have to treat me like you like me, too.
[It was so simple to answer in such a way. It was as practiced as the smile he gave him for asking for something so intimate. Yet internally, it was a battle. Hearing Till ask to be held gave him a hope he thought he buried long ago. It would hurt so much more to give into that hope just to be hurt again like always.
This was an act in order to get Till to freedom. He would give anything, even his life and sanity, to see that come true.
Yet, Ivan moved as if he were in front of a camera, practiced, perfect movements as if from a script. The man stepped in, sliding his arm around Till's waist and pulling him close so that he could look down into his eyes again.
If His Sky was allowing it, he would drown in his brilliance for a precious few hours.]
Can you do that, My Love?
no subject
Ugh, no, stop, not the thoughts to be having right now, it was good that Ivan was able to fake it because Till was a shitty liar on a good day and a worse actor.
Still... He felt like it wouldn't be hard to act like he liked Ivan, he did. Right? Wait--
The man looking into his eyes and calling him "my love" did some really interesting things to his heart and stomach and made him flush brightly and warm, blatantly struggling to not look away in his tsundere bashfulness. Why was Ivan doing this making his heart race so heavy and hard in his chest.
Instead of looking away, he clenches a hand in Ivan's top and buries his head against his chest, much like a coy or bashful girl who's being teased by her lover. Except Till is being very honest.]
Jerk... C-come on.
[He peaks up at Ivan through bangs that don't belong to him.]
L-lover.
no subject
The power Till had over him was powerful. Just one look with that red fact and Ivan's heart soared from the pit of his stomach to the middle of his throat. Till's head was against his chest, and he was doing everything in his power not to let Till notice how his breath caught, and his heart started pounding faster.
Till didn't any idea what he did to him.
Ivan barely noticed his own break in his acting, looking down at the way Till was looking at him with that intense, blank stare for a long moment. With a wide smile, the mask was back in place, Ivan leaning down to lightly brush his lips against those bangs, but not Till himself.]
You're so cute when you're shy.
[It was easier to say the things his heart longed to tell Till when he could hide them behind the lie of lying.]
no subject
[He could feel Ivan's heart beating, probably from the situation, from how they might get caught. Till could understand, his own was rabbit fast and making him antsy. It wasn't just the situation though, it was Ivan's compliment, the way he looked at him for a second there, more like the man himself and less like his picture perfect mask to appease the segyein. Whatever, the situation would only get worse if they didn't move out soon.
Luckily, he has plans and ideas to help them evade. Fool proof even!
Right now, he kept those to himself because he didn't want Ivan to mess them up or act wrong, the element of surprise is what they needed to make it convincing. Or so he tells himself... He's even bad at lying to himself, okay?
Instead he pulls away long enough to grab his bag and shove it into another more stylish bag. If he happens to just bend over without a care to the fact that he's in a skirt and showing off his milky thighs... that's no one's business but Ivan's.]
Okay, l-lover, let's head out before things get worse.
[He shifts to tuck himself against Ivan's side and hopes no one looks too closely at Till's height... He looks small compared to the other man, so it had to do.]
no subject
As much as he wanted to continue debating why Till was choosing masochism, His mind and attention focused on Till's legs. Why yes, the issue of Till's milky thighs were Ivan's problem and his alone. It was the same as the desire to reach out and slide his hands up them was also very much a new problem of his. Till was not just choosing masochism, it seemed.
Ivan looked away, reaching to put the face mask back on his face, his eyes on the far wall, trying not to focus on how dry his mouth felt or the weird feeling in his stomach.
That ended when Till tucked himself back in close to him, Ivan turning his gaze to look down at Till again. Sliding his arm around him for a brief hold accompanied by a soft look, he turned for the door, sliding his arm from around his waist to take his 'girlfriend's' hand instead.]
Stay close.
[Ivan's tone was soft, but protective. One he has never taken with Till. Well, not when he could hear it, anyway.]
no subject
But he follows as they walk out into the hall, their pace hurried while no one is looking, but a little more slow and casual when anyone else could see them. They needed to get out and they needed to get out yesterday.
Especially when distant gunshots echo through the hallways and makes Till flinch and glance back where he saw Mizi... He desperately hopes she's okay.
But he doesn't stop, doesn't let go, he follows Ivan with a firm grip, keeping pace with a little bit of effort. Personally, Till had no idea where they were going. Outside of some places he's walked to a a few times (like costume and make up), he doesn't... he never had the freedom to explore this place. He's entirely lost and dependent on Ivan.
They're about to go around a corner when Till stops Ivan and gets very close to whisper.]
If anyone asks, you're Navi and I'm Suzi. [Don't laugh at his terrible attempt at fake names being Ivan backwards and Sua and Mizi combined. He's trying.]
no subject
He almost missed the sound of Mizi fighting while he was navigating his way out of the stadium. Ivan always regarded her as a nice, warm person of light. It was something dangerous to herself and those around her. The last thing he ever thought she was capable of was using their lives as stepping stones for a separate agenda. Maybe he under-estimated her.
Or maybe the person he underestimated was Till, still held on so tightly, remaining close to him instead of being swayed by the possibility of Mizi truly losing her life this time.
When Till leans in, Ivan turns around fully toward him instead of rounding the corner. To make it more believable, he leaned down closer to him, settling his arm around 'Suzi's' shoulders, like they were embracing or making out. Ivan rested his head against Till's temple, squinting at these fake names. They were bad. They were so bad, but he really didn't have a better idea.]
We're close to the exit, Suzi.
[But not close enough, he thought to himself as someone passed and Ivan nuzzled against the side of Till's head while careful of the wig.]
no subject
Luckily, they look enough like scared pets with the alarm going off that no one is really lingering on them, but this will be one of the more dangerous legs of their journey... when more people and segyein will be near the door.
He tightens his grip on Ivan's hips nervously.]
Mm. [He hums his agreement, pitching his voice.] We should hurry home, Navi.
[It's not perfect, but Till pulls it off enough that an untrained segyein might not catch on that it's a guy pretending to be a girl.]
no subject
Some of those impulsive thoughts took the wheel as Ivan leaned down against till's skin, rubbing his face against him akin to a cat showing affection. It was the most he could do with the face mask still in place. An unguarded sigh left his mouth far too close to Till to hide it like he usually did.]
We will. Carefully.
[So many more bodies were around them now that they were in the home stretch. If they acted naturally and stayed aware of their surroundings, they might make it outside.
It was with reluctance that he pulled away, standing up straight once move and squeezing Till's hand while turning and going back to moving towards the exit. The task wasn't complete until Till was truly safe. Succeeding in that was now going to require waving through segyein and pets while looking inconspicuous.]
Stay close. I don't want to lose you.
no subject
Nodding, he holds onto Ivan's hand, following close. Sometimes pets could go where they please so long as they had lenient owners, but that was rare and they might stand out. They'll have to act like a breeding pair, like they have the same owner and were given some freedom... Till still had his collar on, so it could be believable.
Alarms are blaring, segyein are on high alert and pets are being scrutinized because they know it's humans that came in. So, they would no doubt get stopped eventually, but the longer they can blend in and get towards the door, the sooner they can get free.
Till should have tried to run sooner, because they were in this stupid building. Maybe this morning at the club, but he needs Ivan to be with him...
It's not hard to act like a couple when Till walks besides him, leaning into him, and keeping his head down. Then he feels eyes on them and leaning into Ivan tries to steer him away from the looks.]
no subject
We came to watch the pets sing. She was in the bathroom when everything started, and our Guardian called to tell us to come home before anything gets too dangerous.
[It was difficult to not sound like himself. The monotone timber of his voice was how he handled everything, but in a crowd like this, even his voice could be a giveaway to a particularly detail-orientated fan. With this in mind, Ivan musters what energy and effort he had to emulate someone else and inflect an emotion that wasn't his own.
'Navi' would have to be protective but fearful. Normal pets didn't have the experiences they did. They weren't as broken by the world. It was hard to come up with a story that wasn't going to be suspicious. Till was the creative one between them. If there were details and inflection he wanted to embellish, Ivan would leave that to the artist to do.]
no subject
What the hell was he going to say? Um, shit, okay start talking and go with what makes the most sense he guesses. Pitching his voice high but soft, he sounds remarkably feminine, but to a trained ear it would be obvious he was a male imitating a female, so really...]
W-we're a b-breeding pair-- [... Really? Whatever he said it and he's gonna have to go with it.] Our Guardian wants to make sure n-nothing happens to us while w-we're trying to conceive.
[He can only guess that a breeding pair of humans are sure to be spoiled and treated well and given nice clothes. Probably highly valued and-- yeah well it doesn't matter, they're a breeding pair now that's been allowed some enrichment to help the process or some shit...
But the segyein guard seems actually satisfied with that and tells them to hurry along before they lock the doors. He pats Till's head with his big clawed hand and wishes "her" luck on her pregnancy. "Hope you have triplets."]
Th-thank you v-very much. [A bow of his head that makes him want to vomit... he hates being pet. It makes his skin craw and he can only hope that he didn't disturb the wig too much.]
We should hurry, Navi.
no subject
Yet, Ivan was nothing if not the perfect little actor, putting his arm around 'Suzi' and hugging 'her' close to him after the well-wishes. Triplets, was it now? These segyein really had high hopes for his ability to breed 'her'.
Ivan also bows though, expressing a heartfelt and fearful, thank you. After all, they were allowing him and his pair to escape.]
Yes.
[He sighs like he was given a boon, keeping his arms around 'Suzi' as he guides them both out and turns to go down the street as if he knows exactly where their guardian's home was.
Once they were far enough, the surrounding arms reduced down to joined hands once more. Getting out of eyesight meant he could turn and dip into an alley and do everything he could to put distance between them and the stadium, leaving behind the Mizi and their old lives in the process. For now.]
Do you think you would really be capable of achieving three at once, My Sky? That might take a lot of attempts.
[He couldn't help the joke now that they didn't have to worry about the guard hearing the slight incredulous inflection in his usually flat tone. What wasn't a joke was the slip-up of calling Till the affectionate term he only ever said when he was alone. It would be fine. Till would think it was a joke, too.]
no subject
In fact, he liked it too much, enough that he leaned into the other man more than he probably should for an act. Ivan kissed him earlier, when no one was around, just them... was this something more to him like it was for Till?
It was difficult because... he looks at Ivan and feels his heart race in a way that's different from Mizi. The years apart before all of this, it means that Till has had time to really think about it all. To realize that Ivan is important to him in a way no one else is. Even Mizi.
Till picked him over her and he has no regrets about it. He liked the kiss and wants more. The idea of Ivan "breeding" him isn't something he... finds repulsive in the slightest. Does... does he love Ivan as something more than just a friend? He definitely doesn't love him like he loves Mizi, but the idea of breeding her is almost horrifying to him. The idea that leaving her behind might get her killed... hurts but the idea of leaving Ivan to die was agony.
He holds Ivan's hand tighter and a part of him wishes "my sky" wasn't a joke.]
Oh, is that a doubt in your or my ability, Navi? Because fuck you, I'm fertile and ready for babies.
[Jokes.... jokes.]
D-do you know where we're going from here?
[Urak never let Till really outside ever... so the open sky? The vast unknown? He feels the same fear of that night that made him turn back flare icy in his chest. But he promised not to let go this time, so he resolves himself to trust Ivan to lead him.]
no subject
They were a 'breeding pair' now.
The real question about where they were going is what made Ivan stop, looking up at the surrounding building and looking out over what peeked back at them from the end of the alleyway.]
No, but I can get us far enough that it will take them time to catch on to where we went. I used to know more, but that was a long time ago. I threw away 'surviving' in that way to be with you.
[Now he was turning, looking down at 'Suzi' with a look that couldn't be described accurately with words. They were still too close to the stadium to rest, yet, but he couldn't resist having a moment to himself where he could really look at the man determined to run away with him.]
But I'm sure I could find a place to 'breed' if you need my touch that badly, Suzi.
[Would Till get mad or flustered and hit him? Would he get pushed to keep going? No matter what Till did, Ivan wished it would be enough to combat the vivid thought in his head telling him to push his 'breeding mate' against a wall and make 'make good on their purpose'.
no subject
[To be with him? Ivan turned back that night to be with him? No, that--
That wasn't the yes he was hoping for, but it was better than anything he could offer so he deals with it. The alleyway helps, it's confined enough that it doesn't feel too vast and open. A life of being confined makes the sky both beautiful and terrifying, like he'll become untethered and float away any second.
So, he laces his fingers with Ivan's and holds on, firming his grip more, making it harder for either of them to pull away. He steps closer like he's about to challenge him about something, but then he's talking about breeding him and Till needing his touch and--
He goes absolutely beet red and right now it's so hard to read Ivan's stupid handsome face with that mask on and he really wants to-- to... To what? Hit Ivan? He thinks about it, but... what he really wants to do? Is to almost encourage it, to find someplace and see if Ivan will make good, if they try hard enough will he make Till a provider. He wants to know how much and often Ivan is willing to go until his seed takes--
Lips parted and flushed down to his chest, Till reaches over and grabs 'Navi' by the collar and yanks him down to eyelevel. He leans in close, almost too close.]
Bastard, think about fucking babies into me later, we need to get away from here.
[Like Till is one to talk.... With that he pulls back.]
Being with me now means finding a way to survive this. Together.
no subject
Or maybe it was the way he got so close and gripped his hand even tighter that was making his mind reel. After he tried to get rid of the man earlier, he'd still... Ivan had to look up and away from Till. He was right, and they needed to need moving. The moment their guardians could suspect they ran away and wasn't kidnapped by the rebels, there would be trouble. The thoughts Till was accusing him of would have to wait.]
I'm good at multitasking.
[Turning once more, Ivan was on the move again. They needed to get as far from the stadium as their legs could take them. Ivan should have picked up a collar while they were still inside. There wasn't any point in worrying about it now, weaving into pedestrian traffic and then back into alleys when he could. The more they stay out of view of others, the better.
And yet, the further away they got, the more it was Ivan who thought about Mizi. Yes, he was aware she was going to use their deaths to do something or other, but she still thought of them as her friends. It wouldn't stop his gait, holding onto Till's hand tightly and making their way away from the billboards with Ivan's face on it and the shops that blasted Till's latest single.]
We'll need ways to make money, if we're going to survive.
[Their well-known skills were off the table, but they still needed to eat.]
no subject
Whatever, it didn't matter so long as he has Ivan with him, so long as they're free and alive and whatever else comes their way. The idea of losing Ivan was too much, it made him want to give up and die, he still can't stomach the idea.
Then the topic of money comes up and Till immediately has an answer.]
I can sell my body.
[He doesn't sound happy about the prospect, but really, it was the best means they have and besides, it's something Urak had him do enough that he knows the gist. Like sure, he was usually drugged or restrained or both, but he remembers what those fuckers liked and did and craved from a human, it would be easy enough to do it all intentionally. Might go better for him in some ways too.
Is he a fan of the idea? Not particularly, but he's lived this way for years, what some more while they figure out where to go from here.]
I know what segyein freaks like and I can handle when they get rough. Just would have to dye my hair because fuckers love to play with it and this wig is gonna get trashed real fast.
no subject
Till obviously had experience. Saying he knows what they want in this way makes the reaction he saw earlier make more sense. Till has experience being given over in these ways, Ivan didn't. Unsha was a businessman and conducted their partnership in such a way. This was a disrespect Ivan didn't suffer.
Now they would be together. These decisions were theirs to make. Till didn't have to do things like this, and Ivan could feel the dark red-colored emotions that were clawing up his throat at the thought of someone else touching Till.
When Ivan stops in a quiet, dark path between buildings, it had been far too long since he last spoke. Finally turning around to look at Till in that place where he could no longer hear either of their voices, or see their faces in bright lights, he leveled that blank look on him, pulling his face mask to hang down on one ear to display the full extent of his lack of expression.]
What if I say no?
no subject
Doesn't matter. Seems Ivan doesn't want to talk about it and he's not gonna be an ass about it. Maybe it was more something to talk about later in privacy, not out in the open... that makes sense.
Then Ivan is leading him somewhere dark and quiet and alone... and Till looks around curiously, unsure. He's about to open his mouth and ask what the fuck is going on, but Ivan beats him to it. Brows furrowed, it takes a second for Till to realized what he's talking about.]
First, who says you get to say no, bastard? [He blushes though, because why does that make his stomach flip and his heart race that Ivan would say no?]
And what? Got a better fucking idea?
no subject
[ Admittedly, he didn't have a better solution. If Till had to do that, then that was what had to happen. Survival was the most important thing, Ivan thought. The indescribable feeling crawling up his gut wanted him to refuse, but what could they really do?
With that in mind, he breathed out, letting Till's hand go. There was only one thing that was going to sure fire give them away if Till went this route; his branding. Till's name was printed in the most obvious place, but Ivan's looks were too recognizable to offer himself up instead.
But who was to say someone wouldn't recognize Till, too? ]
Do what you want.
[ In the end, Ivan didn't have a better way to make ends meet. They could breed and sell off the children, but that was an atrocity he couldn't commit to. If they ran away from that life, he wasn't going to send someone into it. ]
no subject
If it upsets you so much, we can figure something else out, but I'm drawing a blank on anything else I'm good at that's not music or art. Not exactly trained in anything else.
[He laces their fingers together and pulls Ivan closer and gets on his tip toes to kiss Ivan, quick and fleeting. The man kissed him earlier, so this has to be okay, right? Why would anyone want to kiss someone they weren't at least a little into, right?]
Whatever the fuck happens, we're in this together. Let's just put that on the back burner and focus on where to go first.
no subject
His eyes snap up To Till's when he felt him against his lips, his eyes widening while his mind tried to process what happened. Till was right. They needed to keep moving, but his mind was moving wheels it never dreamed up. Feelings were brought back to the surface that he had previously shut off, stepping in close to him again.]
We'll be walking for days. [ He said offhandedly. ] Are you sure you want to kiss me like that?
no subject
Oh, he was asked a question. Fuck.]
You kissed me first, but yeah, what if I do?
[He leans a little closer, almost challengingly. It's a strange question from Ivan, he doesn't actually know where it's going, but he wants to see what Ivan will do. If anything. Because what the fuck does that have to do with walking for days?]
