Annie wasn't sure if she was the one to go to for love advice, even if there wasn't an island to get stuck on. Frankly, she was terrible at relationships - though she'd managed her tae kwon do instructor at the Farm quite nicely if THAT counted - for the simple reason that she was always off somewhere. Now that she was stuck somewhere, well.

Well, she was still terrible at her own relationships - this time, it was other people leaving - but she thought she had the basics down. At least, she thought she had Sara's basics down.

Maybe it was because, back home, she didn't have a lot of female friends. Her work was just as alienating for that as it was for everything else. But if she could have made friends easily back home, she would have made one like Sara, she was sure of it. Smart, funny, gorgeous... hell, that's what she looked for in a man, why not a woman? Friend or not.

Pulling the popcorn bowl out of her microwave, Annie shook her head. "Tonight's not the night to think about men. Yours or mine. It's about girltalk and--" She looked at her TV. "I'd say bad movies, but the movies here are all basically porn."

"Of course they are," Sara smiled as she poured wine for them both. Why not? Wine and popcorn mixed with porn and girltalk? It actually sounded great to her, which was completely ironic considering her lack of female friends from back home.

Sara really wasn't one to share feelings with anyone, so the amount of opening up she'd done with Annie said a lot about how much she actually trusted her. That and the fact that it seemed she and Annie had a lot in common probably helped.

"All right, so what porn are we watching?" She sat down on the sofa, twirling her wine in one hand and sniffing it - nice, actually - before grabbing some popcorn in the other and popping it into her mouth.

"Whatever our benevolent goddess wants," Annie said with more than a hint of sarcasm, not really caring if Atia decided to tighten her collar right then. At least she wasn't alone.

Curling up on the other end of the loveseat, Annie gave a small shrug and used her own glass to point in the general direction of the table. The case was there, but she was comfortable and couldn't be bothered to move and get it. "It's there, but really. Does porn ever really have a plot? I'm sure there aren't any pizza guys delivering hot and fresh dough to women in it, though. Too modern."

She tapped the rim of her glass against Sara's and pushed play.

"So probably one of those silly parodies, then." Sara got up and looked at the case, laughing, then put it in to watch. She spun and shook it, rolling her eyes. "It's about Amazonian women trapped on an island, and they all have lesbian sex. Although some lucky guy pops by and gets to have sex with them, too." Sara placed it on the table before curling back up with her wine. "It's called Wonder Women."

Because, really. But at that point, Annie had already pressed play and all the "sexy" credits were rolling. Sara had never been into porn much - and not even into superheroes much either, considering she always got them mixed up - but wine and Annie? It was fun and relaxing and a way she wouldn't need to think about anything for awhile.

Sara tilted her head sideways and squinted. "That... looks uncomfortable."

"What you and I would consider a parody back home is considered fine art here."

Annie wasn't even close to joking and it showed on her face and in her tone of voice. Then, she gave a small shrug and turned to look at the screen; it was really kind of saying something when a quiet night in with a friend turned into watching porn on the TV. Worse, it wasn't even the first time this had happened.

When Sara commented about the position, Annie snickered a little and took another long drink of her wine. "Maybe if she turned her leg a little to the--" Annie turned her head the same as Sara's. "Nope. Just wrong."

Sara rolled her eyes. Fine art? Really? Then she saw Annie's face and realized she was serious. Great. Just great.

She laughed at the ridiculousness of the movie and of them actually trying to figure out if any of these positions were possible. "God, you know what gets me? How on earth do they manage to wax that well? I've gone to many expensive salons and no one offers a package that can --oh!"

And then Sara wanted to applaud the two women onscreen dressed - or rather, half-way dressed - in fake Wonder Woman outfits. She would have remarked on it but decided to say, "Thank you. In case I haven't said it. I would have been lost here without you and..." A little shy shrug. Sara was never good with saying anything about her emotions.

"You're amazing."
