yoshiki had told hikaru never to leave him again, yet here they are, walking the path to ride the train back into town after almost having that happen. not to mention their encounter with that old man whose name i can't remember and cannot be assed to look up, and the subsequent conversations that followed.

so... maybe yoshiki is feeling a little unsettled— not only from the way hikaru nearly left him, but all they learned, too: the holes, that there is no unuki-sama, that they're going to have to close the holes...

they don't have their bikes this time, so there's nothing for yoshiki to busy himself with besides his thoughts, which, honestly, happens quite a lot. this time, though, they're circling around having almost lost hikaru. not hikaru but... 'hikaru.' the hikaru who first left him was a different hikaru. despite occupying his body, this hikaru is different, and yet... yoshiki can't bear the thought of him leaving and returning to the mountain.

he could help ground himself with one simple movement, he thinks. yoshiki has been nervously staring down at hikaru's hand for longer than he realizes. all he has to do is reach out and take his hand, but he feels frozen in place. ]

[There's no telling how long Ivan was staring at him before he walked up and sat next to him. Not content to just sit beside him, he leans in to place his hand behind Till, leaning in enough to brush his shoulder against the other young man's shoulder. Ivan's gaze lingers on his side profile and not particularly where his eyes or attention was, taking in the sight of him in the ways he always did.

Unlike other times, he had a reason today. This wasn't just observation and fawning, oh no. Today was the day he would say something about the way he feels.
