over a drink

The OVER A DRINK Meme
1. Post with your character.
2. You're at a bar. What kind of bar? Any kind you want. From fantasy taverns where various species mingle to futuristic space bars where half the drinks will probably kill you, or even an overly kitsch themed place where everything is overpriced, it's all good as long as there are drinks and company.
3. Respond to other characters. Perhaps you want to buy them a drink. Or perhaps you're inclined to be bought a drink. Maybe you saw someone you knew, or maybe you just want someone to talk to. Could be there's nowhere else to sit, and could be you want to drag them out to dance.
4. Get drunk. Or don't! Be the guest, or the bartender, or the newcomer, or even the janitor. Mingle, make friends, or lurk in a corner.
5. They say alcohol lowers one's inhibitions. Might just be time to find out how much.

dubious honor or not there's not quite an escape from that. whatever happens, happens, once texas straightens out after that pause and downs the rest of her whiskey first. she'll get something better to wash that down with is what she's thinking and there's already one drink in mind that texas could suggest for herself. to help get the idea that she's surprisingly into drinks that don't seem to suit her image as being a cold and taciturn lupo.
....and open herself up to more teasing, unfortunately.)
Tequila Lychee for this one.
(any other stronger liqueur can be later. that is if she doesn't get knocked on her ass that fast. experience from penguin logistics means she has a good tolerance built up which should prove useful for the night. perhaps not the raging hangover that she'll have tomorrow, the emperor had been thoughtful enough to let her have the day off after hearing who invited her out.
there were a few other choices she could have gone with off the top of her head, but texas did get the sentiment she'd be better off going hard like they are. or in this case, like blaze might be.)

So there’s no doubt that’s what’s on the agenda tonight, particularly with what’s on the menu for them. Her eyebrows raise a little at the other woman’s proffered drink choice, and it’s immediately followed by a beaming smile as the bartender sidles up to them.]
Well, you heard her—a couple of tequila lychee shooters for us gals.
[The bartender gives the affirmative, and Blaze raises her own glass in a little salute before likewise downing the rest of its contents as well. A contented exhale punctuates it as she savors the warmth of the drink. Her companion gets a little bit of a grin as she sets her glass back down.]
You’re just full of surprises, huh? Wouldn’t have expected you to go right for something sweet. For someone who seems as stern as you, it’s kinda cute.
[Yep, Texas was right on the money in expecting a little bit of teasing to go her way. Blaze just can’t help it, but if her tone is any indication, it’s all in good fun.]

the remark on it being cute however, causes her to look away. unsurprisingly she's playing it off. no need to focus on that part even if that's just how she's always been with selectively ignoring such comments.
(getting called handsome once or twice by a drunken sora included.)
regardless, she's got her attention half on the bartender and half on blaze in thought. it is a bit childish one could say, more-so that texas does like these things whenever her other habits and mannerisms prove otherwise in contrast. however, she can consider it a small point in her own favor that nobody would know what she uses to fall asleep with at night. that might cause her to effectively want to crawl in a hole even if sora's intentions were good in that attempt.)
....just always disliked bitter things, or sour. The number of times I was pranked with sour grapes doesn't help much there, either.
(she'll be avoiding anything more than that, but it does say plenty about her preferences. or maybe about what kind of person she is if she still took things from a prankster.)

More importantly, the mental image of someone like Texas getting pranked repeatedly sure is something. There’s definitely a story there, but even Blaze—particularly when she’s only a drink or two deep—knows when not to push her luck. After a few more, though? Well, she’ll certainly care less about prying and perhaps Texas will be feeling a bit more chatty. Which is something that remains to be seen, of course, but the only way to peel back the mystery of what her lupo companion gets up to once she’s had a few is to get right into it.
So she laughs a little, leaning casually against the counter.]
Alright, note to self: avoid the sour stuff tonight.
[Which will probably be an easy enough task with the sorts of drinks she suspects they’ll be ordering tonight. The bitter? Maybe more of a challenge, but they’ve got plenty of options. They’re here to have fun after all.]
Promise I won’t get up to any pranks. [Is she grinning? She’s definitely grinning.] Just good, wholesome fun for us tonight.
[For a certain definition of “wholesome.” But hey, as far as Blaze is concerned, any of the shenanigans the Rhodes Island crew regularly gets up to totally fits. Totally! Her gaze turns back to the bartender, who’s just about finishing up their order with professional speed.]
