nice word to me

the ( one thing i like about you ) meme

You've known this person forever. Wait. Reverse that. Scratch it out. You've never met this man in your life. No matter what the case may be, you've still got one little niggle in that brainpan of yours while they're standing in front of you.

You have to say, out loud, the one thing you find intrinsically, insanely attractive about them. Physically. Mentally. Randomly. After being familiar with them your whole life. After meeting them two seconds ago. You have to bear this burden. What's better (or worse)? They have to do the same in return. The two of you, stuck in this tango, must continue until someone breaks the curse, all secrets are revealed, you go insane, or kiss.

All of those options all at once is also accepted.

how to play
- comment.
- comment to others.
- comment in threads until the sun comes up.

[he'll tilt his head almost as if chastened, then. that's commensurate.]

Shall I pretend it's for a birthday? Or something in that vein?

No, please. I find that the gifts that mean the most are just given without fanfare.

[ a small shrug, because she knows that he may feel the exact opposite. ]

I will enjoy it nomatter how or why it is given, I promise.
annarr: ('cause I'm 'bout to make a scene)

--surely not no fanfare.

[a bit of fuss and pageantry is very much in his nature.]

I will accept it from you, but not without a bit of groaning. I may wear gowns but I am not much of a lady.

[ a head tilt, a crooked smile. they must play these roles, for fun. ]
annarr: (of what I got)

[personal profile] annarr 2024-10-16 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[that drags out a soft laugh, warm and easy.]

Groan all you like. I'm certain I won't hear it over the violas and fireworks.

Oh, you wouldn't dare! That would be awful!
annarr: (double up that sunscreen)

I suppose I can attempt to find something a bit more subdued.

Something like camels, or hot air balloons?
annarr: (gonna make your glasses steam)

[personal profile] annarr 2024-10-18 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
At least one hot air balloon, surely. Just to start.

[personal profile] bridgertons 2024-10-18 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Everyone else will expect one, you know. You're setting a precedent.
annarr: (of what I got)

[personal profile] annarr 2024-10-18 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
All for the good, surely. If everyone else is running about after hot air balloons, they'll leave you alone, yes?

Barely! They will wish to know the suitor who is sending them to me!
annarr: (I could wear my Louis Vuitton)

[personal profile] annarr 2024-10-20 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose we can't have that.

[so, instead, he'll simply hand her a surprisingly delicate-looking hair clasp. if a person looked properly, they'd perhaps notice the dagger handle at the top.]

[she looks at it, gasps and then does her best to stuff it in her pocket without doing damage to it. the essence of eloquence, of course.]

That is lethal! Thank you!
annarr: (double up that sunscreen)

[personal profile] annarr 2024-10-20 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[he'll count that as fanfare.]

Use it in good health, petal.

I promise I will make you proud.

[and he gains a kiss on the cheek for his efforts, because it's the very least she can do.]
