Let's have a Movie Night!!
There’s nothing like watching a movie, is there? It’s a chance to relax and have fun for a few hours. Whether it’s a romantic date with dinner and a movie or an outdoor film festival, it doesn’t matter.
That’s up to you.
So pick your genre, pick your location, and pick your season. Above all else?
Chillax.
The Deets:
- Post with a character.
- Like ‘The Support Group Meme’ and ‘The Adventure Meme’, post your preferences. Want a romantic date in the middle of winter? Is the Cannes Film Festival more your style? Or, do you just want a lazy afternoon in the living room with a Bond marathon going? It’s your choice.
- If you want something steamy or gory, note that too. We don’t want someone wanting a romantic tryst stumbling upon a zombie apocalypse!
- Join other film venues.
- Have fun.

Zombie night!!!
Do you like heckling at the protagonists in horror movies? Because Kiden does.]
Dude, he literally just said they can climb! Kick the ladder down!
[Insert emphatic gesticulating!]

Knock it down!
KNOCK IT DOWN!
DO IT, YOU PIECE A'SHIT!
Do-- awww hell, there they go.
no subject
I had high hopes for that one.
no subject
See, that's the thing!
They go outta their way to show the dude as being this super resourceful zombie-killer who's survived for years in the zombie apocalypse, and then the narrative needs him to die so they just randomly give him a giant case of the stupids in the middle of the movie!
Lazy.

[A beat.] I hope the chick bites it.
no subject
She and the lead are gonna live and it'll end on some stupid 'now we need to re-populate the human race' Adam and Eve shit.
no subject
You never know.
no subject
Now THAT'd be a twist.
But no way, they've already shown him and the chick gazing at each other soulfully at least once. I'll betcha anything they'll be macking on each other before the movie's over.
no subject
[Kiden pauses; on screen, Main Dude and The Chick are gazing soulfully at each other.]
Man, now I'm gonna be disappointed when it doesn't actually happen.
no subject
I mean, this movie was pretty much destined to be disappointing from the beginning, but it's gonna be even worse now. Thanks.
[She grabs the pillow on her right and shoves it bodily against Kiden to show her displeasure.]
no subject
You wanted to watch zombie movies, bitch. You set yourself up for disappointment. I'm innocent, here.
no subject
I wanted to watch that one where the heroes hang out with Bill Murray. You're the one who picked THIS winner out!

Slasher flicks
Why would you just walk slowly towards them? That's not a very intelligent tactic.
Jack Frost | Rise of the Guardians

Who, just so happens, is crouched behind you fresh from popping out of a tunnel with an unamused face.]

Besides, it's a particular fantastic segment. When it reached the end, "Well, what did you expect in an opera? A happy ending?", Jack swung his feet a bit as he laughed again. Ahh, it never got old!
He happened to look over, as was his wont to see the kids' faces, when he cause sight of Bunny's. And practically flailed off the tree.]
Bunny?!
Jaaaaaaaaaaack!
This is brilliant! [Her voice is pitched for his ears, but she's broadly grinning.]
Moving pictures. Amazing.
[As Daffy gets shot in the face again and his beak goes spinning 'round his head, the Warden almost chokes on her salty snack with laughter. The concept of having lawful seasons to hunt different animals is a strange one, but the humor of the situation is not lost upon her.]
Maker - Alistair would love this.
c:
[He grins down at her, finally hopping down to sit next to her on the grass and even sneaking a hand in there to steal a piece of jerky.]
You sure? This is stuff adults take their kids to, nowadays. I think they forgot animation was original meant for adults.

[Not really as big as Thor, but it was the best correlation she could make from those she knew on Verdana. She tilts her bag of jerky toward him, happy to share.]
I believe I understand how this is done - to a point. Tis much like drawing little figures in the corners of a book and then thumbing through them to make them move. Aldous, my tutor, despised it when we defaced books in such a way even if we were not truly harming the book's contents. [She gives Jack a wink.] That just meant the images were usually of him waving his arms about in outrage. I... simply do not understand how these larger pictures are shown in such a manner as this. Still, one need not understand to enjoy.
[BANG! and Daffy gets shot again, setting off Elissa's laughter once more.]

[North isn't so much as big as Thor as he is around the middle and yet can wield his sabers easily.]
It's pretty much the same concept, yeah. Just bigger. I got to see how this all got invented, so it's pretty cool. Nowadays, it's mostly digital but for awhile, it was all hand drawn. Once the all the drawings are done, they basically take a picture of each and every frame and put it onto a cell.
[He pointed to the projector. Pausing as Elissa because to laugh again at Daffy's misfortune. Once she settles, he continues.]
The cells are a strip of material called celluloid and you feed it into that machine. It projects the pictures onto the screen at a speed that lets the pictures because movement, like you would do when you flipped the pages in the book.

The artists are quite good at keeping consistency with the characters. I am impressed. I am impressed by all of it. What a fascinating use of technology to make a simple entertainment.
[She offered her back of jerky toward Jack again, eyes intent upon the action after a curious glance to the movement of the projector.]
To think that someone put so much work into making pictures move for an audience is astounding. They were quite clever. As are you for knowing so much about how it is done!
Steel Samurai x Jammin Ninja: THE MOVIE aka some action packed kid's show
Well, it also starred the Jammin Ninja, but that was a minor detail. He was pretty engrossed by the film, considering he found himself sitting down in an empty chair after he stood for a while. It was getting to the climax of the feature after all.]
Mm... ["A Samurai Kick and a Steel Samurai Sushi Slice should be enough to defeat the Jammin Ninja."]
no subject
So he'd also been sitting here a while, watching as the two storylines eventually crossed paths. Both the Jammin' Ninja and the Steel Samurai found themselves on opposite sides of a complicated situation and were now about to start their inevitable faceoff.
This didn't seem like much of a competition, honestly. The samurai might have brute force, but the Jammin' Ninja had cunning. He didn't need violence to solve all of his problems. Still, it seemed like this would be an exciting match to watch.
...Or it would be, if the Steel Samurai wasn't dragging it out for dramatic's sake. Yup, there he went. Fan spread in hand, an overdramatic pose that had nothing to do with fighting, and a cliche line that just begged to be printed on t-shirts everywhere. This was the character that reminded him time and again that he was watching something directed at children... ]
Tch... [ Please. With how long it took this guy to read his over-the-top line, it was amazing he hadn't been taken down a long time ago. ]
