( THE MINOR INJURY MEME )

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.

INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.

HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.

WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

[It wasn't that John didn't want help he had planned to take care of it himself, like he always has. Well other than his gunshot wound. He also had been a bit surprised Sherlock of all people wanted to help, so he had agreed.

He closes his eyes thinking about what a terrible mess Sherlock is making judging by the crashing going on in there and frowns slightly leaning towards the sink until he returns, he sits up.]

Hmm? Oh... [He picks up stands up slowly looking in the mirror and sighs.]

Two or three...just in the middle. [He glances at the blood as he sits back down some what haphazardly.]

You know head wounds...bleed all over the place for nothing.

Yes, well... I'm sure you'll do fine cleaning all this up later.

[Sherlock doesn't clean bathrooms. It's not his thing.

He kneels down and sets John's medical kit at his side. It opens up easily and he can see that it's incredibly organised and kept very clean. He'd expected as much. He picks up a package of sterile gauze and struggles to open it at first. When the packaging rips, he nearly drops the gauze onto the floor. He holds white square up and looks at both sides of it. That's... not what he'd thought it would be.]

Huh. It's so small.

[Shaking his head, he hands John the useless piece of gauze... maybe he could wipe his head with it or something. Not that it would catch much blood.]

Now, I've never done sutures before, but I read about it once. I'm sure I could replicate the steps accurately.

[John sighs...nodding slowly.. 'Thanks Sherlock, for attending to my wound and making a huge mess for me.' His jaw clinches slightly and he forces a slight smile. He wasn't watching when Sherlock got the tiny useless gauze and glances over when it is handed to him.]

Use those... [He points at some larger ones as he uses the tiny gauze to wipe blood from his cheek jaw.]

Simple enough....though I could do it if you'd like. [Yes he could being the amazing Doctor he was he could sew himself up no problem.]

[Sherlock digs through John's bag and finds the suture holder and the suture needle. They're both, thankfully, in their sealed cases.]

It shouldn't be a problem...

[He doesn't realise that John would prefer doing it himself. He looks around, holding both of those items then sets them on his lap.]

So... what's first. Disinfectant and antiseptic, correct? Let's see... where is it... [He picks up the bottle and also one of those big packages of gauze. He opens the gauze with his teeth and pulls it out, then pouts a generous amount of the antiseptic on the cloth. He sets the bottle to the side after closing it up, then he moves forward, which knocks the suture holder and suture needle onto the ground.]

[John rolls his eyes and sighs.] Sherlock-

[He reaches up and catches Sherlock's wrist.] you ruined that by opening it with your mouth... [He gives him a weak kind of smile.]

Let me see....

[He sighs and reaches into the kit grabbing another one and rips it open yes some blood gets on the package but it's his blood after all. He then steals the bottle from Sherlock's lap and pours a whole heck of a lot less onto it.]

Here... [He holds it out towards him...if he must Doctor him...at least do it right.] Gentle-..... but clean it thoroughly.

Ruined? It's perfectly fine.

[It's not like he has a questionable sexual history... or a sexual history at all, for that matter. He watches John sceptically as the doctor takes over the task of getting things prepared.

If John's head weren't bleeding so much, he might have gotten agitated enough to get up and storm away.]

You could have done this part by yourself. [He swipes the gauze out of John's hand with a sigh. Sorry John, he's frustrated at himself and not at you. He gets back up onto his knees and holds John's shoulder with one hand and wipes at the injury with the other.]

It's not about you being infected, you know your mouth has germs....could get into the wound.

[He knows he is annoyed and he is taking it in stride. When he had it wiped from his hand he raised his eyebrows and rolled his eyes. 'Really, come on your the one who wanted to help.' He thinks to himself and closes his eyes. He talks with his eyes closed..he reaches up and puts a hand on Sherlock's shoulder as if to steady himself.] That's it...

[He is grateful Sherlock is staying...and despite wanting to do it himself he is going to let Sherlock do it, even if he has to help him long the way.]

It's a skill Sherlock can use, this.

My mouth didn't even touch the bloody thing. Just the packaging. Weren't you paying attention?

[He may be griping, but he's extremely gentle about cleaning John's wound. It's almost like he's afraid of accidentally causing the other man any kind of physical discomfort.]

When you say thorough... how thorough. This gash is about a millimetre deep.

Yes and no... I do feel a bit dizzy from the blow to my head.

[He sighs gritting his teeth to keep from arguing now. He sighs and opens his eyes glancing towards Sherlock.]

As clean as it needs to be... there should be a bottle in there, for flushing out wounds...fill it with warm water and rinse it out. Should help with the depth.

[He glances at the kit and reaches over grabbing the bottle and holds it out for him.]

Good. It could save lives.

[sherlock takes the small bottle from John and looks it over.] Warm water? Straight from the tap?

[Onto the floor, he sets down the items he'd taken out of the bag and placed in various positions on his person. He'd already dropped a few things so he may as well keep from dropping anything else. It only takes him about one minute to fill the bottle with water that he judges to be around 40 degrees in temperature. The water would undoubtedly cool between exiting the nozzle and entering the wound, so giving it a couple of extra degrees of heat would neutralise the temperature to 37 degrees by the time it reaches the wound.

He looks around the room for a moment, then grabs a large wad of toilet tissue into his hand to catch the water.]
