( THE MINOR INJURY MEME )

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.

INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.

HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.

WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

[ he has half a mind to duck behind the counter when he hears the creak of the front door opening, but decides against it-- eponine would find him anyway, and he'd rather have the dignity of standing.

or leaning against the counter, half failing at applying pressure to the wound. it was his favorite dish towel too, he bemoans silently.

in what only seems to be a blink of the eye, eponine is in front of him, and he he hisses softly when her deft hands press the towel to his palm more firmly. he shoots her a half-abashed sort of smile, that contains a hint of apology. she shouldn't have to come home to this sort of thing ( it happens far too much, for his liking ). ]

You could smell it from that far? I hope the neighbors haven't called the fire department, again.

[ they probably have come to terms with having a clutz of a neighbor by now he supposes, usually after an incident like this he sees it fit to stick his head through their door and give a quiet apology. ]

Er-- I guess the knife sort of slipped? It's not that bad, really, just stings a bit.

[ which is a half-truth. he's had worse over the years, and it does sting, but it also throbs and the added pressure of eponine's hands doesn't seem to be stopping the blood flow. ]

[It's better her coming home to this, then Marius coming home to see her in any sort of rough shape. She did her best to try to keep him from the ugly side of her and her life, always cleaning up before she came over, doing her best to shield her face so evidence of that which they no longer spoke about didn't stare him in the face and cause him to guilt trip himself to death.

She ignores his quips in favor of holding the towel.]

Marius, I know what knife-wounds feel like. Do you have peroxide somewhere? Bandages that aren't your towels? Heavy duty stuff. [She takes the towel off for a moment and makes a face.] I really hope I don't have to give you stitches.
