earlier, when they were out and about, there was a liveliness and anxiety in the way people rushed to the convenient stores to get their essentials in case tokyo winds up underwater- in which case, yoshida thought, what's even the point of hoarding anything—

but it's quiet now. residents are locked into their homes and brace for the storm. as far as yoshida knows, it won't be until sunrise when the storm finally hits. the sky is completely clear despite it all, like the storm is just some made up thing people made up to drive up grocery prices— but yoshida has a pretty good sense of these things. a storm is coming, he smells it in the air, but until then, the sky will be as nice as it'll ever be. ]
