He must succeed. Has to, really. The guild never takes tests like these lightly, nor do they give hard-earned information to anyone. To accept the task was to finish it or die at the claws and teeth of the dragon. If the target doesn't, the guild's assassins will to keep their secrets safe.

He blew out a breath and unshouldered the crossbow, checking the lines and bolt before he stepped in. Everything he'd learned about them would be put to the test today. Rule number one was to face it in its den. As stupid as it sounded to face a monster in its home, it disallowed flight, gaining air advantage, but the trade-off was an increased ferocity to guard the wealth it collected over its life, or possibly offspring. [There is trouble in the city. There has been a series of fires in a perfect circle around the Krang building, all of which have been reported as arson. It seems clear that the Krang are setting the fires for some reason, and when a fire near the building became visible while the turtles were topside, Leonardo led them to the rescue.

Unfortunately, being a ninja doesn't make you a firefighter.

The fire has spread across buildings. The turtles were separated by the blaze, and while human firefighters struggle against the blaze that has grown over a block large, there's a shriek. The fire escape nearest Donatello has collapsed, mostly tearing off of the wall entirely. Someone is dangling from the edge of what's left, legs kicking in the air, and she's screaming for help.

It's a little girl, and she's too deep in the blaze for the firefighters to get to her in time. While flames fly from the window above her, she screams and dangles, her hands starting to slip.]
