Sure, that's fine. At least it saves us the trouble of cooking. I have a meeting tomorrow to get the file for my next mission.

As much as I enjoy making grilled cheese for the two of us, it would be nice. [ She smiles at the table and not at him. Her hand is still warm from his touch and there's something eating at her. It's something to be ignored, at least for now. ]

I hope they don't take you for too long. It gets quiet here.

[ He replies gently before picking up a puzzle piece and snapping it into place. His mood definitely still subdued. He considers if he should go back to his book, but instead he continues to look down at the puzzle.]

[ She nudges him in the leg with her foot, her eyes still on the table. Eloise gives him another nudge and sighs. ]

Do you think this counts as a fight?

I miss you too, when I have leave on missions.

[ He admits as he honestly prefers her company to being alone. ]

Maybe more of a disagreement rather than a fight?

I think I prefer to call it a disagreement. I've had plenty of fights with my family, and while they are unavoidable, they are also unpleasant.

[ She reaches out to tap his hand, pouting as she does. ]

I'm truly sorry that I challenged you so emphatically. I can admit that I dislike it when I can't fix a problem.

Yeah, I've had a lot of fights with my family too. So I get it.

[ He glances up when she taps his hand. ]

It's alright, Eloise. I get it. I don't really like being unable to solve problems either. So I understand.

Well, I didn't need to be an ass about it. Even if we both understand.

[ Her finger lingers on his thumb before she glances away and bites her lip. This is a performance of forced focus. ]

[ Slowly he turns his hand over and captures her hand again. He looks up at her with a soft smile. ]

Really, it's alright. I'm not mad or anything.

[ He gives her hand a squeeze. ]

So let's move on, okay?

[ She doesn't take her hand back, but Eloise looks up at him as she tilts her head. Perhaps a challenge would suit them both well. ]

Let us finish this puzzle and then enjoy some time reading. I think the couch is lonely without us.

[ Slowly he nods as he releases his grasp on her hand in order to sit back in his chair. ]

[ He says with a chuckle, reaching for his coffee to take a sip as he looks over the puzzle pieces again. ]

If I focus on the puzzle instead of you we may actually stand a chance.

[ She takes a sip of her coffee and acts like what she's said is a perfectly normal thing. Her eyebrow is raised, but there's nothing but good humor there. ]

[ He says teasingly, taking another sip of his coffee. His eyes twinkle with amusement as he picks up another piece and snaps it into place. ]
