At the time, I didn't realize I was into women like that. I just kinda thought it was normal to find girls that pretty.

But to be fair, I didn't really do much with boys then, either. I dated some, it never got serious.

I didn't get serious with anyone either. Didn't have that kind of vulnerability in me. Kind of wasn't sure I did even now when I decided to try taking you out.

I don't know how obvious it was. The first girl I dated... I don't think it was a healthy connection, in hindsight. After it was over I questioned myself a lot.

A lot of it was the stuff happening in my life. For a while, it was kind of dangerous to be with me. But it's cooled down now - plus I think you're better equipped to handle danger than most.

I attract a fair bit of it all on my own, so you're not wrong. I think my big stumbling block has been trust. I don't really trust most people much, and if you can't bring yourself to trust someone you never let them all the way into your heart. Doesn't exactly create stable and long-lasting relationships.

It's hard to trust in general, then add in all the bad stuff, and... yeah. But I feel good about this, with you. I already trust you more than most.
