When two people come together in a relationship, it's a beautiful thing. What can be wrong with love, right? Right? Except when the union is completely and totally wrong, for whatever reason. Then things can get a little messy. How To Play 1. Comment with your character, listing their name, canon, etc, along with any preferences. 2. Comment around to others, using the RNG to determine the scenario. It doesn't have to be a lovey-dovey relationship, obviously. There can be hate, sorrow, lust, whatever. 3. Thread! Have fun! Do things! Scenarios 1. Warring Factions: You belong to rival organizations, armies, clubs, etc. Whatever it is, you're not on the same team. 2. Soldiers on the Battlefield: Or maybe you are on the same side, but this is the wrong time and the wrong place. Plus, attachments cause distractions. 3. Bodyguard and the Guarded: Just like the movie with Kevin Costner! One of you has been hired to protect the other for some reason, and feelings are starting to grow. Are you a professional and cut things off, or do you give in? 4. Prince/ss and Knight: Similar to the above, but with a whole 'nother level of wrong...one of you is royal. Courtly love is okay; still, don't forget your place. 5. Enemies: This vendetta is personal, and you totally hate this person! Don't you? Perhaps you're maybe just rivals, or something as serious as superhero and villain. 6. Family: The ultimate taboo. This person is related to you, so there's no way you should indulge this desire, even if it's the most pure love there ever was. 7. Age Difference: The years between you should keep you both at bay, but it's easier said than done. 10. Teacher/Student: Teachers and students have a unique bond, and to corrupt it is a dangerous thing. Will you dare to act on emotions that could put you both in a destructive place? 11. Already Spoken For: One or both of you are already involved with someone else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Just know that you can't have your cake and eat it, too. 12. Not Compatible: Your personalities or jobs make it so it's hard for you to be together. 13. Not Compatible...in Another Way: You're both different species, which means you're either afraid to take your relationship to a physical level or you can't because of differences in biologies. 14. Not Ready for Love: You took a vow (or celbacy, of chastity, of dedication), you're married to your work, or you just don't want to be involved with anyone. Too bad! 15. Rich and Poor: One of you has the money while the other is from more modest means. Can the 1% and the 99% ever be bedfellows, literally? 16. Hurt Before: Your heart has been broken, and maybe there's been no time to heal. But here you are. 17. WILDCARD

(She had spotted him in Diagon Alley. It went against her better instincts, but she felt compelled to follow him. As a member of the Order, she knew how to keep herself well-hidden, yet her nerves were getting the better of her. Here and there, she would knock into something and quickly hide herself in whatever nook she could find.

This would be so much easier if she could speak to him. But, no. That possibility had faded after she had ended their friendship.

It didn't matter that she still thought about him and worried about him; it didn't matter that she wanted desperately for him to prove her wrong and join the Order.

For now, this is the best way to get a glimpse into his life - even if it is somewhat underhanded and possibly intrusive.)

Six months. By the time he had reached Starkhaven, the couriers had done their jobs. The entire city-state was astir, the destruction of their Circle in fire called into question and answers demanded of Goran Vael that he couldn't provide. He was a puppet with cut strings. A sick joke inflicted on Sebastian's people by a jealous woman unlucky enough to dig up a demon. He blew in like a spark of righteous fire with his city a powder keg waiting to blow. They accepted him on bent knee and demanded an answer to Kirkwall's offense, one he was all too willing to provide.

The army burst at the seams with volunteers, men and women alike affronted at the murder of their spiritual leader and the weak response, the lack of justice. He still recalled his promise to Hawke when she stayed her hand. No matter what bonds of friendship and debt they shared, she broke them when she spared an abomination, before if he was fully honest with himself, when she helped that monster distract the Grand Cleric so he could put his diabolical plan into motion.

They crossed the Vinmark Mountains in a glittering river of armor and torches, their supply wagons stretching for nearly two miles back and well armed. They filtered into the Wounded Coast so that few caves or recesses remained unexploited for the shelter and concealment they offered. They poised like the crest of a wave to crash over Kirkwall's black walls and break her defenses. All in the name of one man. One mad cause. One insufferable sin unpunished.

There was one thing Sebastian had to do before the charge. He wasn't completely sure why he felt the need. He wasn't the one who had broken troth, brought them to this end. When his entire family was swept away with such little fanfare, she was the one to answer his call. Perhaps, he decided, that was reason enough. He didn't like the thought of either of them coming to their end with angry, bitter words between them.

He told his personal honor guard to wait for him over a rise, that he'd signal with a red arrow if he needed aid. Beyond that, they were to stay put. He could hardly believe he was able to find the old signal fire that they had used during Aveline's awkward courtship of her husband. Chances were extremely slim that Hawke would be the one to see it, smaller yet that she'd answer something that could just as easily be a trap. He believed that once he tried, whatever the outcome, he would feel more at ease. Not the Maker nor anyone else could ask more.

He held the torch aloft and set it to the burned edges of bundled straw. It flared to life in a bright blaze, almost blinding in the darkness of starlight. It was a night of dark moons. He wondered if Hawke was anywhere near the vicinity at all or if she had long since moved on. He wondered if she would investigate if she did see it, if she'd know which beacon shone in the darkness. He waited in shadow with his grip tight on his bow but no arrow nocked.

It seemed like another ordinary day in the Chantry. Along with other brothers and sisters, Sebastian had lit the candles early, prepared the incense, and provided the needed support for the service. He sang the Chant of Light as clearly and flawlessly as any chanter, not just feeling the music but the words.

A few petitioners lingered afterward, those with troubled souls or special needs. Each was seen in turn, and then the rest of the day was his. As he so often did, he took a seat in one of the pews behind the statue of Andraste for some quiet contemplation to himself. He may not have come to the life willingly at first. Now he could hardly imagine anything else for himself. His grandfather had been right all those years ago. This was peaceful. Right. He sent his silent thanks to the Maker.
