The newest iteration of the flagship has been checked, double checked, and run through an intensive shakedown cruise. No detail has been overlooked. The engines 'purr', according to Mr. Scott. Tomorrow, official embarkation begins. In seventy-two hours, they'll begin their mission. After eleven months of being temporarily assigned to the Yorktown, Spock is ready to 'return' to the Enterprise and the duties he's accustomed to.
The soberness of all that they have lost has not dissipated however. He regards Jim over their nightly game of chess and finds him potentially distracted. Not unexpected with the events scheduled to occur. "Would you prefer to postpone your move?"

Oyrm had always known at some point either he or Will might have to go to the Silken Squall. The trade alliance between the Air Ashari and their genasi brethren requires a trade of druids and guards. They had hoped that they would be sent together, but then illness had taken Will a year ago and when his turn had come Orym had jumped at the chance to get away from home and the deep well of grief he'd found there.
He'd found himself assigned to the young of the two princes almost like he was being dismissed from any sort of assignment of worth, but he doesn't mind. Bronte is kind and doesn't mind that Oyrm is reserved and quiet.
Over time as he watches Bronte and finds himself drawn to the prince's kindness and gentle nature. He tries to keep his distance but finds it getting harder and harder as his withered heart beings to bloom again in Bronte's presence.
