The Playground Meme

Most of us can remember the playground from our younger days. Swings, slides, monkey bars, merry-go-rounds and all manner of other things to play on and fall off of. Well here's another playground to enjoy. A big, brand new one filled with all those fun things you remember and new ones too. Are you a kid enjoying a day running around or maybe someone older trying to recapture youth? Either way, have fun! And don't worry, parents. There are benches under some nice shady trees to relax on.

[Is it strange to see a grown man in business casual dress who arrived without a child in tow sit down on a bench and watch a group of children play? Yes. Does it look bad that his eyes follow one of the children who wanders a little too far from the collective? Probably. Does Norman Jayden care what he might look? Not a bit.

After the Mars case, he stops by playgrounds when he sees them. He watches the kids, and he watches the adults. He looks for the outliers, for the people who don't belong. People like him. He watches the cops who walk by, very mindful of their presence especially.]

Sherry knew she was probably too old for the playground, but the merry-go-round was always fun. Gripping it she ran around giving it a boosted spin for the other kids on it. Not enough to be dangerous she had seen little ones. Jumping to a clear spot she hung on laughing.

[They're on a walk outside, because, let's be real here, Nature is always enough of a reason for Flora to go outside, but it's not like her friends don't appreciate it, either.

It's on this walk that they walk by an empty playground, and Flora stops, regarding the swings not too far off.]

This is normally considered a place for children to bumble about and have fun while their parents chatter in the sidelines about whatever they please. Children all over the place isn't an uncommon sight - in fact, it's the expected sight - and it is just the same today as ever.

That is, except for the much taller person swinging back and forth in the swing set, so childlike in his enjoyment despite clearly being an adult. He'd temporarily forgotten his manners upon seeing the place during a sunshiny walk, so he'd thrown his umbrella to the side in abandonment, taking to the swings like a jellyfish to water.

Care to bug him? He seems harmless, if not a bit odd. ]

the moment she spots the playground herself, she's bolting for the swings with a huge grin on her face... only to magnificently trip on Clear's umbrella and land flat on her face in the grass. oopsie. she sits up slowly, rubbing her nose and wiping grass off her face, and picks up the umbrella. ]

Huh... who dropped this...?

[ Dawn looks around, pursing her lips and decides to ask the guy on the swings if he knows who owns the umbrella. if he knows, great! if he doesn't... well, she can spend time fooling around before searching for the owner. she twirls the umbrella around in her hands as she approaches the swing set. ]

Bart laughed as he picked up a little more speed pushing the park's merry-go-round and jumped on at the last second only to tumble off into the grass once again.

His head was spinning but the smile and laughter didn't die as he stared at the world up above. When he spotted her at last he offered a wave from his place on the ground and smiled as he waved her over.

She was known as the badass, the touch chick; if anyone was cold and lacking in any sort of fun that didn’t involve hand to hand combat or large caliber weapons. So it would probably be a shock to see her in casual dress, jeans and a dark t-shirt under a leather jacket and sitting on a swing. Hell it damn near might cause some people some serious cognitive dissonance, if not just bewilderment.

Nonetheless there she was, feet pushing her into a gentle swing and seeming lost in thought with what might actually be a soft smile on her face.

It might have surprised him before, but York had seen her softer side. He knew how fiercely she would defend those she truly cared about, and even though that wasn't the sort of thing most people would consider tenderness, it meant a lot coming from her.

When he saw her there he approached the swings from behind and settled into the swing facing the other direction from her. He pushed back so he was braced between the swing and his feet and could see her face, then smiled. "Hey, Tex."

but they were finally spending some time together in the park, when today, of all days, he spots it: the playground of his childhood — a carefree setting of joy and wonder — so close, so within reach.. it would certainly bring a warm smile to his brother's face again, should he have a chance to play in it like old times.

[At eight years, Harry stalks onto the playground as if he owns it... walking just like his father walks because he has been paying attention, he has.

He pointedly ignores the other boy who should be trailing in his wake and his... no, their nanny. The thought of them sends a little frown to his face. His father had taken him to Italy for the funeral of an old friend and business partner and when they returned, they had brought along the boy and his weirdo babyish brother like talking souvenirs.

Truly, Harry doesn't know what to make of it or of his father sternly ordering him to go the playground and "be nice" to Lovino, "he has just lost his grandfather, help him feel at home." Honestly, Norman Osborn trying to be paternal is just plain weird - even weirder than Feliciano's "pastapastapasta!" chanting.

He makes a beeline for the swings and finally turns around to the boy.] This one is mine.
