[ His smile returns, relaxed. Intrigued. ] I like a woman who knows what she wants.

I’m an academic by profession, and after teaching classes all day, it can be very nice to let someone else tell me what to do.

[She is a strong woman most of the time, but every so often she just wants to be a good girl]

What do you do for work?

I'm a doctor. Most of my work is on the engineering side of things, these days. New, less invasive methods for monitoring patients.

What do you teach?

[She gets a sly and almost sheepish smile on her face]

God, I've always wanted to play doctor with someone who knows what they are doing.

I am. [ When such a charming opportunity falls into your lap, you don't get up and walk away. All he was going to do with his night was go over data while the subject feed played in his periphery (and they don't even know he's gone). ]

[Stella doesn’t do this sort of thing often, she rarely has one night stands, but the mood has struck her]

[ Hap shakes his head, smiling. ]

Yours sounds like the right call. Can I pick up your tab? [ It's the least he can do. ]

I think it might be.

[she nods]

[seems a very polite gesture before seeing him naked and all]

[ Hap waves the bartender over and takes care of both their bills. Then he shrugs into his jacket and falls in one step behind her, allowing her to lead the way out and allowing him to rest a hand on her back as they walk through the door. ]

[The little touch is just a hint electric, she is quite eager to see if he can play as well as she thinks.

As a bonus, he will probably get some great ideas afterwards, the work of a muse is unintentional at times]

My place is close. What are your usual limits?

[ Once on the street, he matches her stride. Hap remains close, indulging in the draw that surrounds her. ]

Well, I'm not a sadist. I don't want to hurt you to a point that I've got to patch you up after.

[ He tells himself that, anyway, and he enjoys telling someone else that won't scoff in his face. ]

[there is a little chuckle]

At least you’d be able to. I don’t like being degraded, it just ruins my mood.

[She leans into him just a little bit]

[ Hap nods, hand alighting again on her back. This time, staying there.

No names for her either, besides her own. That's how he likes it, too. ]

These toys of yours. Do they include a blindfold? [ He tries to make his curiosity sound aimless. Light. Even to himself, he doesn't want to admit he craves a very particular flavor of trust. ]

[Stella like the little touch, it’s a hint possessive]

They do. I like a bit of sensory deprivation, it makes sensations much stronger. I’ve got a bit of bondage gear as well, if you want to keep me from squirming to touch you.

[She could be incredibly fun for him, she’s good with trust.]

[ A contemplative, approving hum rumbles from low in his throat. He wasn't going to ask about restraints, considering how little she knows him. But if she's willing, he's not going to get in her way. Her trust isn't ill-placed; Hap has no designs on her beyond spending the night. ]

Maybe just until those sensations are good and heightened.

[She has a good feeling about his bedroom nature, he seems like he will be fun]

And then I’ll be begging to touch you.

[ Hap casts his lingering gaze sidelong at her. It falls to the ends of her hair as he toys with it in his fingers. ]

I like the sound of that.

[There's a brief moment where she bites her lower lip as she nods. They have just reached the door to her building and she is quick to lead him inside]

I may need to kiss you in the elevator, just a little test run.

That's just prudent.

[ She wants someone to take the lead. Inside the elevator, her floor selected, Hap obliges. He cradles her cheek, fingertips resting at the nape of her neck, and guides her in close. He frames her face in both hands as he kisses her very unlike a stranger: brazen and heated. ]

[He kisses her exactly the way she needed, he takes control and holds her. Stella is putty in his hands, matching his kiss with the same level of wanton desire]

[ His pulse picks up as she melts into him. Interest becomes want, Hap holding less of himself apart from the encounter. Instinct creeps in; he lingers in the kiss knowing he'll be denying them another like it until she's aching for it. He tastes her tongue, savors her breath, and breaks reluctantly away as the elevator lurches gently to a halt.

He caresses her cheek with his thumb before his hands fall from her, the doors opening to an empty hallway. He remains intent on her. Close. ]

And? [ he asks, on the topic of her test run. ]

[She kisses with a certain open abandon, like even on a hookup she is throwing her whole self at it. One of her hands moves to sit on top of one of his as she drinks him in for a moment. They could just kiss all night and it would be delicious.

But the elevator stops and he moves away. She’s got a sly little smile on her lips and she nods]

Yeah, I think we are going to have a really good night.

[The spark of chemistry is certainly there. She takes his hand to lead him to her door, which she quickly unlocks]

[ Grinning, Hap accompanies her to her door. Stepping inside, his gaze sweeps cursorily over her apartment before returning to her. He'll absorb the details later. She's all that matters to him and he's privileged to watch her effortlessly navigate this space that is an extension of herself.

Stella knows where everything is, where is best for what she wants him to do to her. She'll only have to lead him a little longer before he unburdens her of responsibility. ]
