Ollie was in the middle of the US, and for once, he wasn't traveling for his own work. This was more pleasure and meeting up with Rik who was playing a show in Indianapolis. That, however, was for tomorrow. Today, he was down on the track for the Indianapolis 500. He'd always wanted to see one in person and had no chance until today. That was when he saw the blonde down in the pit that he thought was familiar but he couldn't place her exactly, somewhere in Europe maybe?
"Shelby?" He swore that was her name and expected that if it was, how many people could she know with this thick of a Danish accent.

Shelby visited Indianapolis Motor Speedway now and again just to see the place and be reminded of what she worked her whole life for. She lived just fifteen minutes from the track, and when she was there for the Indy 500 or the Grand Prix, there was always much more to do and to focus on. When she had a chance to just be there and soak it in, it was special. Even if the track itself wasn't open and all she could do was walk around in the parking lot outside of the IMS Museum and its gift shop. She was still home.
She didn't expect to hear anyone calling her name, though, and glanced up from where she was checking out the renovations being done to the Museum. Maybe it was a fan or someone else who recognized her. She didn't expect who it was at all. "What the heck are you doing here?" she said with a laugh, stepping off the curb to come over and say hello. "You are a long way from Europe." Then again so was she, she hadn't been back since she raced at Le Mans a few years ago.

The Dane smiled when he realized it was Shelby. He couldn't even remember how long it had been since they saw each other.
"It's been too long." He would give her a friendly hug if she accepted. "I'm in town to see a friend play a concert and thought I would come down to the track."
Which was, partially, his own obsession with race tracks and racing even if he spent more time on stunts recently.

The other one was that IndyCar was based in Indianapolis, so logistically it made sense to live where her entire sport worked out of. Other drivers lived in other cities, like her teammates in Charlotte and Nashville, but she preferred to be right in the heart of operations. Right in the shadow of the landmark at which was held the biggest race of her career and her father's career. The place where she had made history, not once but twice, by being the first woman to win the Indy 500 pole and then many years later, to be the first woman to win the race.
"I'm glad you're here. The track itself is closed today but you can still walk around this infield section here, and I think they'll run the tour buses tomorrow, depending on how long you're in town," she added. "The tour will take you onto the track for a couple of minutes. But you should come by the house, my husband and I live just a few minutes from here." And yes, she said husband. A word she was still getting used to.
Yamada 💠OC
Optional starter below, but bring your own if you want! )
The bizarre creatures created by Moon Gazes are sometimes more strange than malicious. This doesn't make them any less dangerous. A gang of road hog monstrosities that would fit right in with Ed Roth's wildest creations might sound just weird, but ripping up the road causes no end of trouble, especially when they decide public spaces are valid shortcuts. To the slavering group of demonic drag racers it's a race. To Yamada and his partner for the mission, it's a chase.
"I've always wanted to do this," he says with an over-the-shoulder smile at the partner. He's running towards the gang's impromptu starting line, his arms pumping. Pumping so much, they spin all the way around as they warp into wheels, skin turning into black metal with white accents. POP! He expands into a contraption one could only imagine existing in fiction. A dragster of exaggerated, sweeping wing shapes, an over-the-top spoiler coming up over the top like a scorpion tail. Flames burst from the jet at the back as he revs up. Yamada's scratchy, deep voice crackles over the radio as he gets in touch with his partner. "Bet I get the leader before you."
