You've seen her across the room a hundred times - oh, maybe it's him? - and for some reason you've always been too shy to say it... Or maybe it's a complete stranger and you're feeling kind of brave? Either way, you're compelled to let this person know that you'd hit it. You would so hit that.

Hell, if you don't, feel free to tell that person: no, I would not.

[Isaac resists those normal urges he'd have to take a step back when Derek got up close and personal and just looks up at the taller man, obviously not about to make any kind of first move.]

Didn't think so...

[His lips quirks when Isaac doesn't step back and Derek takes that as invitation to place a hand to Isaac's chest, letting it slide up and around to the back of his neck to curl fingers into his brown hair.]

You're not intimidated.

[It's not a question, more curious than anything. He was so used to them all shrinking back from him, but that was mostly his own fault.]

[He doesn't resist Derek, obviously this would be the wrong kind of situation to have that kind of reaction to.]

Uh, its not the right kind of scenario to be intimidated, is it?

[Besides, maybe for once Isaac was comfortable with the situation he'd gotten himself into with Derek.]

And yet you're still pretty timid even when I'm not really trying to be.

[Intimidating that is. Or maybe it's just the expected frustration of dealing with a pack of his own for the first time.]

What is it you feel now? What's your instincts telling you?

[He looks Derek straight in the eye, unsure if this was some kind of test or not.]

They're telling me to stay.

I appreciate that.

[It's not a test, just Derek's curiosity in Isaac's interest in him that may run a little deeper than it ought to. He strokes at his scalp once. He smiles.]

And do you trust them?

[Isaac gets the faintest feeling he's being treated like a pet for the moment.]
