Dancing Meme

Dancing well takes serious skill and talent, but just about anyone can shake their hips or tap their feet to a beat. No matter your competency in cutting the rug, there's some pleasure to be found in letting loose and moving your body to the music. Not to mention... sometimes it's fun to get all dressed up! (And if not, then perhaps in seeing a partner all dressed up?)

[ Jonathan had been lingering near a wall watching the festivities. It wasn't that he was antisocial, as much as shy at times. His heart still belonged to Mina, but Airy was his first friend in this strange place.

Stepping forward he gave a little bow, lingering signs of that Victorian upbringing. ]

Might I have this next dance, Miss Airy?

[Ariadne doesn't know or understand the dance of most Folkmore clubs. Which usually means she just ends up twirling, spinning like some kind of tiny tornado in the golden gowns that Thirteen likes to dress her in, for some reason.

She manages to stop before she can smack right into Jonathan. And there's a small, pleased grin at the familiarity of a bow.]

I would be honored.

[She curtsies in turn, perfectly.]

Although...I find it hard to tell one when song ends and another begins around here.

[ There was something comforting about just seeing someone appear carefree and simply spin in the dancing crowd, and of course it would be Airy.

A simple smile was returned as he offered his hand, cool, but not cold. Room temperature at best. ]

I will admit it has been an interesting change seeing how dance moves along, but I feel we will persevere. We simply step in and have fun with it.

[ After all, he knew little about the folkmore dances, but it would be fun just to move around the floor together, even if just a sway that doesn't match the beat at all. ]

[Thirteen always provided. And that included gloves, so Ariadne didn't have to squirm at the thought of palm-to-palm contact with anyone. Except Drizzt, of course. But he was another story entirely.

She easily took Jonathan's hand, noting that he had a scent that was...familiar. She couldn't quite name it. Everyone in Folkmore had a unique scent, probably owing somewhat to whatever world they came from but...no, there was definitely a whiff of something she'd encountered in the last two years.

Not that it mattered. Ariadne certainly didn't base her trust on scents. She trusted everyone. Until they gave her reason not to.]

Does dancing change quite a lot in your world?

[ The gloves were certainly a bonus, something Jonathan should wear himself, but doesn't due to the long claws he was given on arrival. He is always careful not to knick anyone with them.

He had no idea that death would grant him a scent, but he tried so hard to hide it. Leading Her on to a simple dance, once from his youth, without so many complicated steps. He didn't even mind if she didn't match. It was all about fun after all. ]

Over the years, a bit, yes. It changes slowly, but it has become more risqué for sure. Dances, I for one, am much too shy to learn.

[ He might not always seem shy, but he was when it came to his lingering Victorian sensibilities. ]

Risqué dancing? Now I'm intrigued.

[Not all that surprised, though. Dancing has always been an excuse for flirting and touching.

She follows along with him, quickly picking up the steps. It's not all that different from any dance she might do in Valeria. Give or take those claws.]

I see Thirteen has chosen your role. Is it a bother?

[ He gave a slightly awkward laugh. ]

It is mostly a lot of grinding together, if I am honest.

[ Jonathan kept dancing along with her, even if the tempo probably didn't match, it was more than good enough for him. ]

Oh, yes, that. It would seem so. No, I thought it would be. Outside of texting, it is less bothersome than some peoples changes.

[As someone who has a hard time texting--even without claws--she can more than relate. Ariadne offers him a small grimace of sympathy.]

I must admit, while I'm not sure I agree with my...role...

I am grateful that Thirteen allows me to control my changes. Perhaps you'll learn to retract your claws, in time.

( probably something more towards the ballroom type thing, but a cute jig in the kitchen isn't out of the question for some probably?? as for adult, maybe not in the way that you think. she'll put money in your cleavage or something if you dance for her tho. )
