Should is a strange word. People only seem to use it when they feel guilty. I should have done this, I shouldn't have done that. [ He waves a hand in a dismissive sort of gesture. ]

Pleasure is meant to be shared as often as possible, without limitations. If all are willing, why hold back? Love is glorious, but I do not love everyone I take to bed as I am certain they do not all love me.

Do you view things differently?

Oh, god no. I love many people in many ways, but no. I am far too old for that.

[ Which is funny for someone who looks like he might--barely--be out of his teenaged years. ] I think pleasure is sometimes the objective on its own. Trying new things...just to see what happens.

It's almost always a unique adventure, how things go once someone picks up that he acts and sounds much older than he looks. ] It is true, I do look young. but I am much older than I look. I was party to a, ah...peculiar gift that has resulted in me looking no older.

You say no limitations should be imposed on pleasure...what do you mean?

It takes more than good looks to seduce properly. But, it does not hurt either.

Ah, I see, favored by youth; as I suspected. [ At this point he'll take his word for it, still only assuming his relative age to be no more than perhaps early 30's, which was still a stretch. People were unique creatures though, some felt older than their days and some felt younger. ]

I have noticed that some, not all, place limitations on who they can experience pleasure with. Whether that is by gender; or by their relationship status. Why not have multiple lovers - why not have them at the same time? Life offers many options, is what I am getting across.

[ For the time being, Ganymede is more than happy to let Oberyn suspect his age is whatever he likes. The truth of nearly seven thousand years is hard to comprehend, much less understand, and he doesn't begrudge anyone not needing to try it. He'd like to avoid knowing it himself some days. To the comment that he's favored by youth, he snorts a little indulgently, obviously amused. To being checked out-- well. He's used to that, though he shifts just a bit to let the man see all of him, turning in a slow circle.

If nothing else--and above most everything else--Ganymede is beautiful. Almost inhumanly so, and certainly more than would do him favors in most places. ] Favored by something, I'll give you that.

You do certainly seem to be the adventurous type in bed. I can see why people think you're charming. I like that, and I'm considerably picky.

Are you asking how I seduce someone?

[ Amusement sparks in his gaze.

He does appreciate the slow turn Ganymede's offered him, taking in the man's beauty is an easy, natural thing. He suspects Ganymede must be quite accustomed to it, but he doesn't seem to carry himself the way most that were young and lovely did - as though this was all they had to offer the world. Interesting.

As for the comment on him being adventurous, ]

I detest stagnancy. And I find the best way to avoid it is to partake in as many experiences as I am able. Variety keeps me young.

What comes easier to you: love or lust?

Lust. Love is deeper of course, and more binding, but it takes time to arrive at that point. While it is all too simple and far easier to find oneself caught up in the lust of a moment.

[ Sometimes that's all it is - a moment, maybe a few strung together. ]

And for you? Which do you find easier?

Not naive, no. [ He shakes his head, a brief grin, then allowing for a moment of assessment as his gaze studies her. ]

Reserved, perhaps a bit guarded. But not naive.

[ Naivety tended to come with more hesitance, indecision. None of that seems present in the way she carries herself. ]

[ She's not being obvious. If anything she's something of a difficult read, which is why he'd gone with reserved and guarded as descriptors. ]

I don't think it is a bad thing, to be reserved. It is simply not in my nature, nor that of my people.

Are the women of Dorne truly allowed such... freedoms?

Such a question. [ It's almost painful to hear it, for what it obviously suggests, and what he knows (and dislikes) of most of Westeros north of Dorne. ] Yes, they have many freedoms; as it should be.

I know this is not the case in North, however.

Nor the rest of Westeros. Sometimes I wish I had more knowledge to arm myself better. You teach your ladies their agency how to best protect it.

We do. As I teach all of my daughters as well.

Are the Starks so set in their ways that they would deny you the ability to learn something so vital?

I believe they thought they were protecting me. They were well intentioned though my ignorance led me astray.

Good intentions are irrelevant. It sounds as if they failed to prepare you for what the world is, and in doing so failed to protect you. I would not lay the blame at your own ignorance.

No, I was a foolish, silly girl. I should have known that life isn't a song.

[ The anger she holds at herself is palpable. She feels like everything could have gone so differently had she been so naive. ]

[ That anger is indeed palpable, as is the pain beneath it. An emotion he can relate to, though the source of it is different for him than her own. It saddens him to hear her words, however. ]

Some of life can be like a song. You are still young, I would not toss the concept aside so readily.
