You're not wrong. Anyone who expects me to sugarcoat things just because we're dating really shouldn't be dating me (or anyone else, really) in the first place.

Thats not a bad policy, really. Honesty is the best way to go about things, and trying to let someone down easy sometimes leads to disaster.

If someone feels bad about the truth, that's on them. Don't shoot the messenger just because you don't want to acknowledge your flaws.

On the other side of the coin, we all have flaws, and if we can't be honest with ourselves about them, interpersonal relationships shouldn't be our priority.

Yeah, as much as people want and need interaction, it takes a lot of work on ourselves to keep those relationships healthy.

If you're putting up with shit, then you're not keeping the peace. Preventing an argument doesn't "keep the peace" if it means you have to compromise your values or beliefs.

Guess I don't always think about it in the bigger picture. I especially didn't think that way when I was younger.
