3. classic rides: the carousel, the ferris wheel. all carnivals need these classic rides for kids and adults who aren't looking for the excitement of the faster-paced rides. snuggle close to your partner and see if you can see your house from the top of the wheel.

4. something more exciting: this is for thrill-seekers. here you'll find the tilt-a-whirl, the gravitron, the screamin' swing--all the rides designed to make you lose your lunch. hope you didn't have too much cotton candy!

5. freakshow: do they really have a bearded lady in that tent? it's time to find out. buy a ticket and see the greatest oddities the world has to offer.

6. tunnel of love: or perhaps tunnel of mild boredom. the red-tinted lights and quasi-romantic music are meant to make this ride a great makeout spot, if the chemistry is there.

7. hall of mirrors: you and your partner entered, thinking it would be easy to get out again, but dead ends abound in this wacky mirror-maze, and each mirror seems to show a more and more distorted image of each of you.

8. fortune teller: whether one of the creepy machines or the even creepier women dressed up in a culturally insensitive costume, you cross someone's palms with silver and get your future told. will it be happiness forever with your partner, or will ill tidings be bound your way? optional: use to get your fortune!

9. wildcard!: i know i forgot something, probably several somethings, so here's your wildcard for whatever else you can fit into this meme.

[Since Platinum Jail was opened to the public, they've hosted a few large scale events. The carnival is one of those -- Aoba isn't sure what to expect, since something of that magnitude could never fit within the cramped confines of the Old Residential District. The closest they've come are street-packed festivals during the holidays, nothing which could match an amusement park. Something like that would only come out of Platinum Jail.

The gleaming lights are visible from a distance, bright and brilliant against a bruised evening sky as Aoba walks with Koujaku toward the gate. After they pay and head inside, he's dazed by the height of the different attractions up close, head craning to see the top of the ferris wheel.]

Wow, this is amazing... Where are we supposed to start? [For a moment, Aoba forgets the nervous flutter of the occasion -- this being their first legitimate "date" since everything that happened inside of Platinum Jail, with Scrap, and the aftermath.] Is there something you want to do?

[ Normally the thief would be magnetically drawn to the cotton candy and other sugary treats so easily accessible at carnivals, but for now he has to try to earn a bit of coin. He could pickpocket what he needed, for sure, but there was a certain level of fun in getting more creative with his work. That's why he's actually set up his own modest-yet-enticing booth, labeled by a large banner which simply reads "THE ALL-SEEING GAIUS". The various mystical charms hanging here and there make it clear what his professed trade is.

He just needs a victim customer.

Playing a quick game of eeny-meeny-miny-moe as he surveys the crowds he abruptly rises from his seat to dramatically point at a passing girl. ]

[ He can see why the others wanted to come to such an event with all of the flashing lights and excitement filling all the people, but maybe he should have urged them to use the schedule more. Once they got there, instead of following the plan he wrote out everyone went their separate ways to have some fun so Kaldur was left standing there awkwardly and not really certain what he should do.

Going parental mode sounded like his best bet, but wouldn't they scold him for not having his own fun?]

Since they had a good time together at the shrine, Akihiko decided to invite Minako out to the carnival that came up a couple months later. He had walked through a few of them as a kid, with Miki and Shinji tagging along, but they couldn't get the full experience back then. He could make up for lost time now, and definitely wanted to at least try a few of the rides to test his courage.

As usual, Akihiko had a penchant for making sure people were well-fed, and led her to the food stands first. The menu looked like it was catered more toward an American audience, with hot dogs and popcorn and nachos, but he wasn't very picky when it came to food. As long as Minako was okay with it too.

"Get whatever you want," he offered her with a warm smile, "It's on me."

While they were waiting in line for their turn to order, Akihiko was not-so-discreetly eyeing the games nearby. He personally didn't care for the prizes, but maybe Minako would want to take one of them home? She had liked the Jack Frost doll from the shrine festival, after all...
