Could we have fewer memes where it's required that people know each others' canons beforehand? I play obscure-canon/unloved canon characters and it's really hard to get tags in some of them.

The meme requiring it or not won't change much. People who'll tag unknown canons will do it anyway, people who won't never will.

Maybe try tagging out rather than waiting to be tagged?

I'd suggest maybe mallow hallow, you'll have a hard time getting accepted in most places because not a lot of games allow vocaloids that aren't from subseries like BRS and spinoff manga that gives them more canon to work from.

I'm always confused when people ask for someone to repost meme x, y, or z. If you really want to play in a specific meme, why don't you just repost it yourself?

i'm a meme reposter and i had to make a seperate email account and a separate sock account for reposting memes, because of all the emails and notifications i was getting about the meme posts, so that might put people off reposting memes themselves. or they might not have a copy of the meme, and they don't want to go hunting back however many pages for it.

Some people get really territorial about their memes, and not everyone answers PMs on sock accounts, so it can be tricky to get ahold of the original meme creator to ask permission to repost.

yo, i'm a dumb butt, and i;m trying to write up my characters permissions but some of the terms are rly confusing me?? sorry i'm dumb like i said haha but could someone explain these for me;

- Backtagging
- Threadhopping
- Fourthwalling

Backtagging: When someone keeps tagging back on a thread that's been going on for a while (I would say longer than a week). It seems to be 50/50 as a whole - some people love to backtag, while others prefer to churn out a thread in one go or over the course of a few days.

Threadhopping: If Character A replies to Character B and Character C interrupts and starts threading with both characters or just one.

Fourthwalling: If you play a character from Harry Potter, you might run into muses who have read the books/watched the movies in their universe, therefore they may recognize them.

sometimes i'm too nervous to tag out in memes because i play animated muses and some of the people i really want to play with are live action muses and i know some muns don't like to mix mediums. sigh. i'm a tragic dumbass sorry

When I post and request "no smut" I'm worried that people think I mean "don't ever mention anything remotely close to sexual in tags" but all it means is "I'm not interested in threading out the 'insert-tab-a-into-slot-b' specifics of sex". I don't mind if my character gets into a sexually-charged situation or whatever, I just find playing out the nitty-gritty details kind of weird and uninteresting.

Is there a way I can request that in a short sentence without sounding like a crazy person? How do other people interpret a "no smut" request?

I interpret a no smut request as you don't want your character in a sexual situation, or (mostly) in certain cases you are playing an asexual character that isn't interested in that sort of thing.

If you want a "charged" situation, you can post no particular warnings or you can say in an ooc line "talk to me about such-and-such an option" or you can always PM the person tagging you if things are veering a certain way.
