Age gap

the AGE GAP meme
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Post with your characters, including what role you'd like your character to play (older/younger) and your preferences (no one under ____, no number 2, roleplay only, etc).
2. Tag around, either choosing options at random or using some kind of RNG.
3. Don't be naughty~. Or do.
OPTIONS
1. All of this is roleplay. You're acting a part.
2. This is real. You're actually living this.
(possible) SCENARIOS
1. PARENT & CHILD: So, have you been bad? You know what happens to bad kids...
2. OLDER SIBLING & YOUNGER SIBLING: If the parents aren't in the picture, someone has to take care of business.
3. OTHER FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIP: Keepin' it in the family.
4. TEACHER & STUDENT: Don't stand, don't stand so, don't stand so close to me...at least not during schools hours.
5. DOCTOR & PATIENT: An apple a day keeps the doctor away, unless you want to play.
6. CUSTOMER & STRIPPER/DANCER/HOOKER: Older people have the money, younger people need the money. Surely something can be worked out.
7. JAILBAIT: One of you better watch out, because this is trouble with a capital T.
8. THE BABYSITTER: ...you've seen the porn. I don't have to describe this.
9. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURES: If you don't see something you want, make it up.

But hey, the drinks are free! And while the fellow who'd hired an escort for the evening was answering literary questions, Iggy got to wander off and look around. And, to his surprise, recognise a face from the back of book jackets.
"Sorry - I bet you hear this all the time, but I really liked Hate and Ashbury," he opened with, genuine excitement coloring every word. Normally he wouldn't bother a famous person, but...
"I won't take up your time, sorry, I just had to say it."
cw: internalised homophobia
"Oh, yeah," he says, swagger and sheepishness all at once. "Don't believe a word of it, I was on too many drugs to remember the real San Francisco scene." Because - he can clock Iggy as a fairy in tem words or less, and he figures that he's one of the kind of fans who message him on Twitter trying to call him an 'elder queer' because he wrote about the AIDS crisis before it was cool.
"But please, take up my time," he adds, sounding a little sardonic but absolutely meaning it. "I'm taking a pause on drinking and it turns out these events are too boring to attend sober."
no subject
He beams, pleased as always when he's not dismissed. "Funny, 'I was on too many drugs to remember" was going to be my memoir title!"
He himself has a glass of chardonnay - he loves snooty events, there's always good wine - but he's far from wasted.
"I'm so glad to hear you say that," he confides in a soft voice. "I always assume I'm just too dumb to keep up with the conversations, but if you're bored too then it can't just be that." He smiles again, bright and entirely too genuine.
"Don't get me wrong, I like to read, I'm just not really good at dense nonfiction. I got your book 'cause my dad had shown me some of your articles, and I was working at a bookstore so I looked you up."
A pause.
"I totally stole it. Sorry."
no subject
It feels, he can't deny, really good to have someone implying he's smart and giving him such genuine smiles, even if he doesn't know where to begin dealing with such a sunshine nature, can't help wondering what must lie beneath. "What else do you read?" he asks, genuinely interested â he's always genuinely interested, people are genuinely interesting even if he's never really been able to organically connect with them.

Iggy sips his wine. "Oh, gosh, I'm so lowbrow. I like mysteries - I almost never figure them out, so they're always a surprise - and I like memoirs because I think people are the most fascinating creatures. Like even if it's a shitty person, I like reading what they think happened, you know? I feel like the best book ever would be two people recounting the same event independently.
"And I love pretty much everything Chuck Tingle writes. I'm a sucker for absurdist erotica."
He studies Daniel's face. Iggy has a very upbeat nature, that much is obvious, but his gaze is oddly piercing.
"You? Or are you like, sick of books?"

He actually shivers at the thought. Genuinely, too - he's not putting on an act.
"I won't ask you what your favourite book is because that's impossible to pick, but is there something you've read that's never left you? Good or bad. Bonus points if it's sexy." A pause. "I'm only mostly kidding about that last bit."

wildcarding it (her age can be like late teens)
If anything Effy's an observer. While she can be impulsive and in the moment, she's the type that draws attention, but otherwise she doesn't say a lot nor give a lot away. And that has been much the same during her trip. The closer she gets to the border, the more she's warned about it. Of course she's heard stories about the Cartel. She's not an idiot, and she's careful enough to stay in cities.
There is something about Mexico that's beautiful though, that has her extending her time. The nightlife in the city helps, too. It's not as loud and pulsing, grinding at her as London was. So she extends her stay, finds odd jobs she can pick up. She doesn't exactly remember the first time she likely caught Lalo's attention-- her age, fair skin, and noticeable accent, in Spanish and out, sets her apart for most people. He's got a charm to him, but there's something in his eyes when they meet.
She's on her way back from a shift at one of the clubs. She sees him in one of the parking lots, whether or not he was at the club for any particular reason, she doesn't know, but it's early morning, she's in a skimpy outfit, heading back to her apartment.]
Nice car. [She gives him a nod, a subtle smirk forming.]
sounds good to me!
That's alright, though. Anyone can be taught.
And hey, maybe it's not too healthy for a guy his age to become fixated on a girl who looks like she wouldn't even be old enough to drink yet if she popped up over the north side of the border, but hey. Who said anything about his lifestyle was healthy? Dons aren't dons because they have "morals" or "limits."
Nothing wrong with an older man leaning against his Monte Carlo outside a club smoking a cigarette, anyway. He nods back at her when she acknowledges him.]
Nice outfit. [Returning a compliment with one of his own is only polite, right?]
no subject
She comes to stand across from him, eyes shifting from the car back to him. No one else is around this early, at least outside. Couple bosses are still inside, but sheâs closed out around dawn and then did some clean up after the kind of night they had. Itâs early enough, but maybe not for people that work regular hours.
Something tells her he doesnât, but itâs not like she knows him that well other than the few conversations sheâs had (her Spanish is getting better, beyond just the curses sheâd learned from college Spanish). Maybe he has business there or close enough by. She lives close enough, typically a walk home at this time is fine.]
Youâre up early.
no subject
[Lalo shrugs. It's not a lie. He napped in his car for about an hour and a half a few hours ago, and that's all he needs.]
You know, it can get dangerous around here. [A tiny smirk flits across his face.] The guys in there don't walk you to your car?
no subject
Arms cross as she looks back at the club behind her. Thereâs a few cars in the parking lot, but none of them hers.]
If it isnât a busy night, and I get out earlier theyâll drive me home.
[Not this morning clearly since itâs such a late shift for her. She gestures down the street to indicate she doesnât live too far, but she doesnât voice it. She isnât an idiot.]
Never had a customer wait for me. [She smirks again. Is that what this is? Her brow arches in mild amusement. Of course if anyone had ever gotten out of hand, the security was good here, but if he put an interest out on her that would different. That would be interesting. It pulls something at the back of her mind, something that says this is dangerous, and that excites her more than anything has, yet. She has a penchant for bad decision making even as hard as she has tried to not.]
no subject
[He actually means that genuinely. He'd have figured that would have at least happened to her a few times by now.
Something about the fact that it hasn't excites him. Like he's about to unwrap a candy bar he gets all to himself.]
Lucky for you, there are worse guys who could be out here waiting for you. [He's just a don for the cartel, after all! Nothing scary there.]
no subject
[But somehow heâs there. Was he waiting? She think more and more he might have been. Thereâs a little smirk at that. Effyâs caught the interest of many men before, some of them dangerous. Itâs a thrill sheâs thought sheâs gotten over by now, but that little smirk has a dash of pride, an uptick of adrenaline.
And while sheâs sure there are worse men that could have been out here, sheâs also more aware that heâs not harmless. The girls talk in there, and while Effy doesnât know the inner workings of the Mexican drug cartel, she can pick up a few things. Mostly a man like him with a car like that whose revered inside that club has to be a man of influence. There is a few things that could mean, but rumors travel fast.]
Iâve heard stories. [Whether she means about the kinds of men that have caused enough trouble to have those stories told about them or those rumors about him, she doesnât say. She just gives him a smile that indicates she isnât exactly turning tail and running.
But sheâs interested now. Sheâs interested in what he wants if this isnât some happenstance. And if it is, does he use the coincidence in his favor? Call her curious.]
