I. BAD ROMANCE

01. IT'S TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE. You had a fight and now your lover isn't sure they want to even hear your apologies.
02. HURT/COMFORT. You or your lover is in pain, physically or mentally, and needs to be comforted.
03. SECOND BEST. No matter what your lover says, you feel like they're only settling for you like a second choice.
04. CHEATED. You've seen all the signs; lipstick on the collar, scratches down the back, hickeys you didn't leave behind. Do you want to keep ignoring it or finally confront them?

III. HOW CAN I EXIST WITHOUT YOU?

02. JEALOUSY. It's jealousy to the extreme. You're going to make damn sure your lover knows how you feel about them seeing other people.
03. INCEST IS BEST. You know it's wrong, all kinds of sinful, but you can't resist the draw. If characters aren't related, then they are now! Or at least it feels very close to incest anyway.
04. YOU'RE NEVER GONNA GET FAR. You love that person so much, you've made sure they can't get away - by physically tying them down or by some other emotional or mental means.

[ Not many people stick their neck on the line for Derek Hale. He's always just seen it as karma though. Derek made a mistake when he was a teenager, but it was just a small mistake. This mistake was monumental and cost Derek everything. His mistake was falling in love. After Kate it was hard for Derek to really see love and relationships as a good thing. Outside affections just got you hurt or it hurt those around you. Derek fell in love with Kate Argent and she had his entire family burned alive. Entire was probably the wrong word because technically Cora was still alive and so was Peter. Though he'd really prefer it if Peter wasn't among the living. Derek's mistake was too big for him to just sweep under the rug so he punished himself. With isolation.

Everything's different though. Things have changed for Derek, but others have stayed the same. It's still incredibly difficult for Derek to see himself as worthy of being with someone. It's hard for him to look at a woman see someone who can be there alongside of him. It's hard not to look for the flaws or wait for that other shoe to drop. The shoe that will cause him a lot of pain. He can't trust himself since Kate because he doesn't deserve to be let off the hook. He doesn't deserve anything that can make this easier.

He's awake before her and it's hard not to want to flee to find the others, but he can't seem to move from his couch. He has a clear sight line of the bed where she's sleeping. Being creepy is the furthest thing from Derek's mind. He's never been very good at subtle. It's a helluva lot easier to just go into the situation if you ask him. None of that is important now. It's important for him to decipher just what he feels for Jennifer Blake. He needs to know if he has to stop this immediately. She's normal. She has no ties to werewolves or any of this. Why pull her into the middle when Deucalion is starting to heat things up? She'll just become a vulnerable spot and he'll push on it until Derek pops. ]

Isaac was currently curled up in the corner of the couch, shivering, despite the two blankets he had around himself. Whatever was on TV was not interesting him in the slightest. he just wanted to be warm and feel better.
