THE HUNGER GAMES MEME

Congratulations, Tribute.
You have been selected to participate in the Hunger Games.
The rules are simple: there can only be one victor.
You have to kill everyone else or die.
The last one standing wins.
May the odds be in your favour.

⚔
OPTIONS FOR THE SCENARIO-MINDED:
1. ENEMIES: in for the kill
The truth is you've been plotting each other's death for a long time. The only thing different about this situation is that everyone else actually wants you to off each other. Who cares if both of you are probably going to die anyway: no one is taking this bastard down except you.
2. ROMANCE: lovers in a dangerous time
What do lovers do when they know they're about to die? Last kiss, last words, last fuck? Maybe you're desperately trying to protect each other from the rest. Maybe you're the last two left alive. What sacrifices are you willing to make? How far will you allow each other to go?
3. ALLIES: set your arms down
It's in both of your best interests to stick together. Two together is more deadly than one, and you can pool supplies and weapons. Of course, this arrangement is most definitely temporary. Maybe it'll fall apart tonight, or tomorrow, or next week. Maybe your alliance has already run its course, and it's about to fall apart...right now.
4. TORTURE: death's not the worst
Sure, the point is to kill them. But why leave it at that? Maybe you've always secretly gotten off on this sort of thing, or maybe you've just cracked under the stress. When everyone is going to die, there's no point in sticking to all those rules society laid down for you any more. You've already incapacitated them; there's no way they can fight back. Might as well have some fun, right?
5. VICTORY: the finish line
You've done it. Last one standing. You've chosen to live, and no one but you knows how much that choice cost you, because they're all dead. At this point there's nothing that will stop you from stepping up to claim victory. You killed every other tribute. Or did you?
6. OTHER: write your own story
Anything and everything you can think of. In the arena, there are no rules.

Let the Games begin.

Then she knows something will happen to scare her out, to send her to her death. A part of her wonders how Katniss would handle this, if she'd run out to face death ahead of time or if she'd continue to bide her time and at least try to come up with a plan.
Unfortunately, Prim knows that no amount of planning is going to matter, since she's convinced herself that she stands no chance in an actual fight.
She waits until she thinks it's entirely clear and safe before crawling out from her hiding place, and the little thing takes off running as fast as she can to try and find a new safe spot.
Too bad it's sunset and she can't see as well as she'd like, and she's so tired she's not paying full attention and just plows right across the path of Finnick. She's twelve and delicate, give her a break.]

You must be good at hiding. [He doesn't put down the trident he's holding, but doesn't move to strike her, either.]

[She answers honestly, looking very much like a little baby deer that's seeking out it's mother before it bolts away from a hunter. Her chest is rapidly rising and falling as her breathing picks up, and she crosses her arms over her chest as she realizes she doesn't have a weapon.]
Just lucky.
[Did she say that out loud? She's not sure, her heartbeat is so loud in her head it's drowning out everything coming out of her mouth. She feels warmth slide down her cheeks and fall onto her hands, and she realizes then that she's crying.
Fear? Definitely.
But there's also acceptance.]
Are you very good at using that? Really good, so I won't feel anything at all?
[A trident, she thinks it is. He's lucky to have gotten something like that, but it's pointless to her if she doesn't know how to kill her with it without making it hurt.]

[His heart. 8( This is ... his own Game that Prim is guest-starring in I guess. Meaning he's a bb too. How sad.]
Yeah. How do you think I got this far?

[It's a pretty simple observation. He's bigger than she is and obviously is stronger. She shifts her weight to rest on her left leg, and as she does so a twig breaks. The noise of it startles her and she gives a jump, taking a cautious step back on instinct.
She glances behind her, as if she actually stands a chance of getting away.]

Give me a reason to let you go.

[Of course, this boy has no idea who her sister is, or just what Katniss is capable of. So she takes in a deep breath and tries to elaborate.]
She'd kill you after the game is over.
[Is that really a reason, though? No, it's not. So she tries again.]
You don't have to actually let me go. I could help you, for now. Do what you need me to. Then at the very end you can do what you have to.
no subject
He could use her as bait?? He looks like he reconsiders his original words, then shrugs.]
Fine. We can have an alliance for as long as it takes to kill the other tribute. Don't make me regret it.
no subject
Besides, she's still holding out hope that maybe he and whoever else is left will manage to kill each other off.]
You won't, I promise.
[And since they're in some kind of alliance now, she feels it's safe to run over to stand at his side. It feels safer there, with someone much taller and stronger with her.]
I can show you the places I hide. You might not fit in most of them, but they're really good places. Good enough that you could sleep if you needed to.

[And with that, she takes off running. She has a large hope that maybe he won't be able to keep up, but since he's a giant compared to her and has freakishly long legs, the odds aren't really in her favor.
Especially since he has that trident he can just harpoon her with at any time.
She leads the way to...idk, some nondescript hiding place. It's after 4am, it doesn't need to be described. The odds are likely he's too fat to fit in it anyway.]
