THE LIST! 01] baby Suddenly, there's a new addition to your family! Are you expecting? Adopting? Struggling to find the perfect name for your child? Or maybe you're up at a ridiculous hour in the morning because they're crying like crazy. 02] just married Congratulations! You and your loved (?) one are about to start a whole new life together! It's time for the honeymoon... 03] house hunting Are you seeking out an apartment? A dream house? Or just any old place, as long as you're with your other? Make sure to weigh your options very carefully... 04] household chores It's time to clean/cook/garden/take care of something! Do you work together, or does one of you hide until everything is done? 05] shopping Whether it's for furniture, groceries, or something in between, shopping is something that everybody must do at some point in time! What varies is if they like it or not. 06] family vacation WE'RE OFF TO DIDNEY WOOOOOOOOORL or wherever ... well, as long as the kids are happy, right...? You may not be happy (or maybe you are), but it's mainly about ~family bonding~. 07] romantic retreat It's you and your loved one's anniversary, and you decide it's time to take some time off and take them somewhere nice, where you only have each other. 08] comfort Is somebody sick in bed? Or perhaps they just had a bad day? Sometimes, a good breakfast in bed or a home-cooked meal can really lift the spirits! Or perhaps you want to try medicine, or laughter, or something else? 09] pet Suddenly, you have another addition to the family! Is it a puppy? A kitty? A fierce dragon? Whatever it is, make sure to give it a name and to take good care of it! 10] holiday Happy birthday/New Years/Christmas/Valentine's Day/whatever! It's a very special day that only comes once a year, so make it count! 11] argument Oh, no, who left the stove on... Or maybe it's about why they were out late last night? Either way, there is a lot of tension today, and one of you may or may not be sleeping on the couch tonight. 12] making up It's time to make amends for that fight/divorce/whatever you had before! After all, you love each other... right? 13] surprise, surprise You are feeling rather loving tonight, so you want to remind the other person how much you cherish and appreciate them... if it's by something cute and adorable or hot and sexy is completely up to you. 14] proposal 15] other I know I'm forgetting like a bajillion and one different things here, so this is the option for that! |
mia | evil dead | really?
7. supaa kawaii.
"We could go see a play," she muses, unfolding the brochure as she plops into one of the chairs in their hotel suite. "There are tons playing. Or just - go to the park, or something."
Vicki squirms a little awkwardly. Being back in New York isn't exactly what she'd had in mind, but hey, the city's big enough that it's not likely she's going to get caught, anyway. And it's the first place she could think of that would distract them from everything else around.

Mia lays on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. She hasn't moved since she dropped onto it about thirty minutes ago.
"Whatever you want," she says, stretching out a bit more. She's sleepy, thanks to not being able to sleep much on the bus trip. (Thanks, paranoia.)
"I've never been here before... We could do everything. How long do we have?"

Oh, to live in the age before cell phones. In some parallel universes, Roger Collins has filled up both of their text message inboxes, but now? Nope. The phone on the nightstand is silent.
"There are good restaurants here, too," she says, back at the paper again. It's almost like she forgot completely.

She gets up from the bed, walking over to Vicki and plucking the pamphlet from her. "What kind of restaurants?" Her stomach grumbles. Yeah - someone's hungry. It's embarrassing.

But then, Vicki grins. "We had the money," she says with a trademark shrug. "I figure, why not do something with it. And there are any kind of restaurants you want. First rate pizza places. Some fancier stuff, too. Or just fast food." At least - from her memory. That she was trying to forget about.

"Pizza sounds amazing."

"Okay," is all she says, and she gets up from the chair. She hovers over Mia's shoulder instead of taking the pamphlet back, trying to find a street name on any of the ones listed.

When Vicki peers over her shoulder, Mia hunches a bit, making it a point not to turn her head to look. She's really close. "I'm up for sightseeing on the way there," she says. "But I think we'll wind up needing a map for the rest of the week."
no subject
"What's wrong? Not up for unexpected adventures?"
Maps are so boring. Here's Vicki, used to hitchhiking and basically wandering. Ain't nobody got time for maps.

And she slings her purse over her shoulder and makes her way to the door of their room.

As Vicki walks away, Mia hugs her the best she can manage, her one arm looping around her middle. It's brief, but affectionate. "You're the best. Thanks for taking me here."

She grabs her sweater and heads out the door with her. To the city! This should be fun.

But first! Out the door, to the elevator (stairs? Ain't nobody got time for that), through the lobby and out onto the street. And to the corner to begin this shit.
Let's hope a wrong turn hasn't been taken already.

From what she's seen so far, New York is just like home - only amplified by a million. And this isn't even the right time period for her.
She keeps looking around, idly wondering just what she's missing. There's so much going on. She also wonders how long the forces that hate her guts are going to give her before she needs to waste some stupid demon. But she's trying to remain positive.
"Which way do we need to go?"
no subject
Do demons even leave newsworthy stories? If there were some kind of massacre, she would think. Either way, she thinks they're relatively safe.
"I think it's a left," Vicki responds, sticking close to Mia and taking a peek in that direction.
no subject
Mia's just going to take her direction like the helpless puppy she really is.
no subject
She pauses before officially rounding the corner, remembering what she read on the pamphlet and - "Yeah. We're good." And she smiles at Mia.

Then - a thought. "What if I got a shit-ton of calzones instead. That'd be just as good." She ruffles her hair, considering the possibilities. "What about you?"
