Sometimes the hardest things to say are also the most important. It doesn't matter how much it scares you to do so, it's finally time to be honest.

01. I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE Unfortunately, you can't keep lying to your partner/friend/family anymore. You just don't feel the same for them anymore.
02. I WOULD KILL YOU The person who means so much to you has done something completely unforgivable and now it's time to make sure they know where they stand. You would kill them if you ever got the chance.
03. I LOVE YOU, BUT... A bittersweet love confession. You know you love this person more than anything, but you're not sure you can give them what they need.
04. I DON'T TRUST YOU No matter how you feel about this person, you really can't trust them anymore.
05. SACRIFICE You're going to sacrifice yourself, for the person you're talking with or for the good of all humanity. You want them to know the reasons and that there's no stopping you.
06. TROUBLE You're in trouble and you might not make it through. You need to let at least one person know how you feel before it's too late though.
07. CRIME CONFESSION You did something you weren't proud of and now it's time to admit it.

16. YOU WERE A MISTAKE Sorry, but whoever you're talking to was the biggest mistake of your life or maybe it was just something you did together.
17. NOT WHO I SAY I AM You're so far from who they think you are, you need to finally tell the truth.
18. LET'S RUN AWAY You want to just get out, leave everything behind and be with this one person for the rest of your life.
19. ASHAMED Either you're ashamed of something they have done or something you did, either way you need to bring it up.
20. CAN'T REMEMBER The person standing in front of you looks so happy to see you, so relieved, but how do you tell them you can't remember a thing about them?
21. HOW COULD YOU You don't understand how they could treat you like they have, do what they have done when you've done nothing but be good to them.

[ It's been a long time since Magnus has felt the need to do something like this. All of his rebelliousness and recklessness had been taken care of centuries ago. It's rare for him to want to do somethings this ridiculously rash nowadays.

That doesn't stop him, however, from gliding into his apartment where he hopes his wonderful boyfriend happens to be and calling out to him. ]

Alec? Are you here, love?

[Alec probably should have stayed home, except Magnus' apartment was more home to him than the Institute now. His family didn't quite need him and Iz had practically ordered him to go see Magnus.

As soon as he'd sat down to wait for his boyfriend, Chairman Meow had taken over his lap, purring contently as Alec tried to think about Jace being gone or what had happened with Camille. When he heard Magnus, Alec began to stand, only to have the cat decide to cling to his jeans.]

I'm here. The Chairman doesn't want me to move.

[ With all the bad and the terrible going on, now seems like both the perfect and the worst opportunity to suggest taking off to places unknown. Everybody needs the chance to forget about all the wrong things, but running away isn't necessarily the answer. But they've finally sorted things out (sort of) and Magnus isn't quite ready for it to all go downhill again. ]

He's spoiled. Drop him to the floor, he'll be fine. [ He rounds the corner into the living room, shrugging off his jacket as he goes. ] How're you doing?

I'm not dropping him. You said he has to like me if I'm going to stay.

[Which leads to more of those uncomfortable thoughts he'd had since overheard Magnus' conversation with Camille.

Still trying to disentangle the cat, Alec manages to stand, only to be used as a ladder until the Chairman is perched on his shoulder. Sighing, he scritches behind the cat's ears, muttering that Magnus is right and he is spoiled.]

I'm okay, I guess. [Honestly, he wasn't sure how he felt or thought anymore.] What about you?

I drop him all the time and he still likes me.

[ Tossing his jacket onto the now vacated couch, Magnus leans forward to place a gentle kiss on Alec's lips and give Chairman Meow some head-scratches. ] I'm fine.

[ He drops himself onto the couch, crossing one long leg over the other. ] I have a proposition for you.

You feed him. That counters being dropped.

[Watching Magnus, he can't help wondering if his boyfriend really is all right. And if they'd ever really be okay after what had happened. Though, Magnus' comment does distract him enough to cause him to smile.]

Aren't we past the stage where you need to proposition me?

And you spoil him. [ Magnus does too, but that's beside the point, clearly.

He returns the smile, though it's slighter, and a tad bit less real. ]

This is different.

He's the only cat I've been around that hasn't tried to take my hand off if I wanted to pet him. He deserves to be spoiled.

[Different? Guilt washed over him, intensified when he realized that Magnus' smile wasn't the one he normally gave him.]

What did you want to talk about?

That's because you have a poorly behaved cat.

[ He hardly hesitates. He's afraid that if he waits too long, he might talk himself out of it. ]

Let's leave. [ Vague for dramatic effect, of course. ]

[He began to teasingly defend Church, then stopped as Magnus rushed from one topic to another. Without any context, Alec doesn't understand what his boyfriend is suggesting.]

You want to go out?

Yes. [ A pause. ] As in out of the country.

[ He stands, stepping closer to Alec in an almost urgent way. ] Let's get out of here and go somewhere. Anywhere, I don't care where. Let's just go and leave all this mess behind us.

[As he stares at Magnus, there's a part of him that wants to say yes. If they leave, then they'll be far away from Camille - hopefully - and maybe the problems they were having could be fixed.

But no one knew what had happened to Jace and Isabelle needed him. He couldn't just run away just because he wanted to.]

We can't just leave. Jace is missing. I can't just desert my family when they need me.

I know. I get it. [ He doesn't, actually. Family means nothing to him. He knows what it's like to be there for friends, though even those, for him, were fleeting. ] And I'm not saying we should leave forever. Just a while. We can let everybody else take care of this for just a little while, can't we?

I guess... It'd depend on how long we were gone. [A day or two might be possible. The Clave was more interested in Clary than Alec, though there were questions about if he could feel if his parabatai.

But it still seemed wrong to leave when they were needed.]

How long did you want to be away?

[ As far as he's concerned, there are other warlocks, other Shadowhunters, to get the job done, or to at least deal with it for a while.

The honest answer is 'forever'. But he knows that won't work. ] Long enough for the brunt of all this to blow over.

[It was tempting to just leave... go back to their trip and pretend that they'd never been called back. Maybe then all those doubts he keeps obsessing over would go away. But could he desert his family?]

I want to, but I can't just leave. Izzy needs me.

[His voice goes softer, edged with sorrow and guilt over not being there when his siblings needed him.]

We lost Max and I know she blames herself. [Just like he does.] I should be here with her if something happens to Jace.

That's understandable. As much as I love Kevin Zegers, he does look a bit too old to play Alec

Looking too old was my main problem with Kevin. Alec is so /young/ in so many ways
