1. Post your characters, one per comment. / 2. Others reply to your characters. / 3. Participants are struck by the urge to cuddle. You can SCREAM at this urge, shake and cry, get hearts in your eyes, feel elated and joyful, rant along the whole way, whatever. It DOES NOT STOP THIS URGE TO CUDDLE.
Jim Moriarty | BBC Sherlock

What was surprising was the unfamiliar feeling creeping through Sherlock as he stared the other man down. He hadn't yet been able to put a name to it, but he knew that it was bad.] You have my attention. What do you want?

Though normal was a boundary that Jim had run up to, did a little dance over, and skipped merrily past quite a long time ago.]
I guess what I want most is- your pretty little head on a plate. Too tyrannical? Yes. I'll settle for a dance.

[He's never heard of anything more absurd. Or more perfect. Of course if it's Moriarty that's come up with it, it has to be a good one. Even if it's not a good one.] There is no music.

[He doesn't mean his phone, but that does prove useful as he pulls it out and sets a playlist to run. The first that comes up is actually his choice for John's ringtone.]
Do you know how to waltz, Sherlock?

[His voice betrays the tiniest trace of annoyance, despite his will to be unreadable. He shrugs off his jacket, throwing it over a chair and rolling up his sleeves. Ordinarily he'd be making these moves before he's about to punch someone, but as he steps up to Moriarty he holds his hands out stiffly.]

There are faster dances for this song, but I'm sure we can find our steps well enough.

..I'll always make time for you. [Though it's a promise that would normally imply something like fondness, in Jim's voice it promises something entirely different.]
You're lighter on your feet than I expected. With practice I bet we could put Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire to shame.

[Jim's statement sends a small chill through Sherlock. As much as he appreciates knowing that their infatuation with one another is not one sided he also knows it is trouble.]
Should I start calling you Ginger, then?
no subject
He's hoping that Sherlock will prove to be a fun challenge in that particular way.]
If that suits your fancy, I won't stop you. Call me anything you like, Fred.
[Tickled with their newfound nicknames, Jim pulls a bit of a showoff spin move and when he settles back into place with Sherlock, it's just that much closer.]

Yet another thing we're evenly matched in.

We're a pair, you and I.

[Though it's hard to deny the way they seem to fit together. Sherlock has no question about the fact that Jim's dangerous, but he's so many other things as well. Things that Sherlock has never found in anyone else. No one's been able to keep up with him before, let alone surprise him. It's a rare quality and one that he has to admire, even as much as he knows he must be cautious of it.]

Instead, he simply remains fitted just right, lingering until it becomes unwise to indulge in this. Jim pulls his head back and looks up.]

[It's soft enough that it could almost be mistaken for a lover's confession.] You'll understand pain in ways you never have before.
