There's nothing in the rules about whether or not your character knows s/he must obey - as well, the other character might not know that s/he must be obeyed. Play it however you like.

Dean was going insane, that's the only reason he could come up with for him actually wishing Lindsey would show up. He called him to let the lawyer know the job had been done, then he'd spent the next day running around LA with actually money, picking up some clothes and DVDs, a few video games. That had been a week ago, and Dean had been alone every since.

He didn't even see the big guys anymore, they'd stock his apartment when he was asleep. Had he done something wrong? We're they just busy? What the hell? Not to mention the way his arm kept itching. Right around where Lindsey always bit he'd started to scratch, causing the skin to get raw and red. This wasn't good, this was worse than he thought. He'd gotten to the point where he was having dreams about being bitten, and he knew he needed to suck it up and tell Lindsey what was going on so he could figure out a way to make it stop. That was, of coarse, if Lindsey ever decided to make an appearance.

A week. Lindsey gave his pet a full week of undisturbed relative freedom, with no interruption from Wolfram and Hart, before he decided to put in an appearance again. After all, Dean had done such a wonderful job with the nest of vampires, cleared them all out and no property damage, that Lindsey thought he deserved the treat.

That was assuming the human viewed it that way.

As Lindsey stood in front of the apartment door, Chinese take-out in hand, he wondered just how much his pet missed him. Time to find out.

He knocked.

Dean froze when he heard the knock. Oh thank god....not that he cared. Dean paused his movie and jumped over the back of the couch as he made a run for the door. Though he tried to look calm when he let Lindsey in, he couldn't help being a little pissed. "Where have you been?". He looked back and forth between Lindsey and the bag in his hand before just snatching it and walking back to the kitchen. Chinese, that was a new one. He liked Chinese.

Apparently, very much. Well pleased by that revelation, Lindsey let Dean take the bag without much protest and closed the door after himself. It looked like Dean already had the food laid out by the time Lindsey was seated at his seat at the kitchen table. Strange that they had seats now.

"Work kept me busy. I thought you would appreciate not having to see a vampire everyday so soon after you dusted those others."

"Yeah but you didn't call and let me know that," he managed to get out through a mouthful of rice. "I haven't seen another person in a week, I'm going insane. If you're gonna ditch me for that long, can't I have more in and out privileges?". Just having the vampire near by made his arm tingle. He idly scratched it while opening up a container of orange chicken. "Not that dusting those guys wast fun. The way they dissolved...wish clean up was always that easy."

"Informing you of my work schedule was not part of the arrangement." However, he softened the words with a tolerating look. "You always complained of having to face the Chippaiwa demons, that is why I have arranged for them to deliver things without disturbing you."

He shrugged lightly, noticing how Dean's arm was red and raw but didn't bring it up yet. "Different vampire species. This is the variety that is more frequently found in LA. No messy bodies. How is the chicken?"

"Those guys were demons? I just thought they were ex wrestlers with bad acne.". Dean shrugged and dug into his food. "It's good, really good. You always bring the good shit. So why the visit now? You got anther case or something?"

"Do I need a case to visit you? It has been a week, it stands to reason that I would wish to drop by." He licked his lips and smiled, "You can say I was looking for the good shit too."

Crossing his arms, he placed them on the table and leaned forward. "It has been a long week. I decided to treat myself with a place to stretch my legs, settle down, relax."

"I'm betting your apartment is nicer than this one.". But it meant he it Chinese food, so screw it. Still he looked a little nervous when Lindsey licked his lips. "Uh...ok, I'll grab a glass or something to bleed into when I'm done eating."

"Oh, I do. With a great view too, thanks to Wolfram and Hart. Yet it is not the same."

But what amused him the most was Dean's attempt to withdraw. Was he trying to get rid of what was probably building to a very nasty addiction? Lindsey slowly shook his head. "It doesn't work that way," he informed the hunter. "Your chicken's getting cold."

Dean frowned but kept eating his food. "Why can't it work that way? You said you want my blood, you can still have it. And I've bled into cups before, so it's no big deal. There's no reason we can't just do that from now on."

"It doesn't taste as sweet when it's not right from the source." It wasn't a lie, not completely, but merely not the whole truth nor the most important part of it.

"Is there a problem, Dean? You are being rather reluctant as of late."

Fuck it, maybe if he was honest Lindsey would get why they needed to stop. "It's having some weird....side effects or something, okay? So if you wanna stick with my blood I gotta do the glass thing, I'm sorry."

"Side effects?" Lindsey cocked his head, pretending to be oblivious to Dean's distress. "What sort of side effects are we talking about?"

Dean sighed and finally held up his arm, showing off the raw skin. "Itching for one. Start to get twitchy after awhile, can't sleep. It's like..." like he's a addicted. "....I don't know, it's just really annoying."

"Yes, I see," Lindsey murmured. That would actually be cumbersome if the side effects would interfere with his pet's functionality. Genuinely interested now, Lindsey nodded for Dean to put away his arm. "And when did these begin?"

Dean out his arm down awkardly, unable to look Lindsey in the eye. "I don't know, I guess it started maybe three weeks ago and kinda got worse from there. Like I dream about it...something's wrong with me. So we're gonna stop."

"No, we're not," Lindsey said, voice even and not giving Dean a chance to argue. "How long in between bites before they affect you to this degree?" In other words, how long do they have before Dean requires his next fix.

"I don't know, couple days...seems to be three when it starts and five when it gets bad.". Dean ran a hand through his hair, trying to stay calm. "We need to stop, how can we not? You'll still get your blood, just no more biting."

Lindsey went with the truth as well, not even the convoluted truth that he normally delivered. "I like biting you, Dean." It wasn't merely the project, or getting Dean under his control, or the power games. He honestly liked sinking his fangs into someone who liked being fed from. While it was true that Dean couldn't say 'no', Lindsey liked knowing that Dean wants to say 'yes'.

"That's great, but clearly it's not good for me.". He'd finished his food and started cleaning the able, mostly just wanting to put some distance between them. "You want it in the glass or not?"

"Give me your arm, Dean." He watched with sharp eyes as the hunter moved around the kitchen looking busy. "You know this will not stop unless I bite you, you might as well get it over with."

Dean finally stopped and turned to Lindsey, folding his arms. "Or my body will get over it, go through withdrawal or whatever and I'll be fine. It's already not as bad as it was yesterday."

"That was not a question, Dean." Lindsey's gaze narrowed on his rebellious pet, mainly on those crossed arms. He kept his tone mild though. "You will not like it if I need to get out of this chair. I would think our relationship is getting along quite well, do not fight me over this."

"Our relationship?". Dean raised an eyebrow, letting out a confused laugh. "The one where you own me? I know my agreement, I have to provide you with blood, doesn't say anything about biting."
