Everyone has mutant powers! Post your character, along with what their mutation is, and tag around to other characters using one of the following prompts! Or, make up your own scenario! |
THE DISCOVERY - Your mutant powers are emerging for the first time. Are people scared? Are people hurt? You need the help of a more experienced mutant. THE SCHOOL - Maybe you're a student, or maybe you're a professor. Maybe it's your first day there, or maybe you've been there for years. Maybe you're sneaking off campus for a trip to the local mall. THE TEAM - Training. Time to learn to use your powers in battle. Step inside the Danger Room for a session. - Mission time. Before, during, or after. Maybe the mission was a success, but maybe it wasn't. MUTANT-HUMAN RELATIONS - Okay, maybe not everyone has mutant powers. There's still a wider world out there to find your place in. For some, the seclusion the school offers is what they need, but others can walk around the general populace unnoticed. Some humans are fearful of mutants, but others are more accepting. Time to find out which is which. |

hope the starter is ok, let me know if should change anything!
Finding that someone-or something-would, for any joe off the street would be near impossible. But when you had Cerebro, you could pinpoint the general area fairly easily.
The snow around the cave was tamped down from the coming and goings of its owner. Obviously they didn't think it necessary to cover their tracks out in the middle of nowhere.
But he was wrong. He could smell the human not far outside the cave. Any other creature might panic, but the fact that it was just one, made him curious, not fearful.
So, instead of imitating a hungry bear to scare the human off, he spoke, keeping just inside the cave and out of the light, but close enough to be heard.
"Who are you and why are you here?" he asked.
it's perfect! sorry for taking so long on my end
Even with the help of Cerebro, it was difficult to track anything in this unforgiving climate. Thankfully, he had his senses and abilities to guide him, and that they did. His natural empathy for creatures of the world helped him along, and before long he found himself, rather frozen to the bone, but at the opening of a cave. All he has is the supplies he took, a heavy coat, clothes, and boots. His collar is pulled up in an attempt to shelter his face.
He knew the other was there before he spoke, and he approached, head tilted, and eyes cast down towards the tracks. "My name is Newt Scamander. I was sent here by a friend in order to search for you. I believe ---I believe that he could also be a friend to you."
A beat. "Would you mind terribly if I stepped inside? The wind is terribly biting out here."
totally fine C:
After a moment, he replied, "Yes, you may."
The cave was quite large, the dirt floor covered in animal skins and pelts apart from a place in the middle. A small fire pit sat at the center, cold for the moment, he'd been away hunting and only recently returned, though it seemed empty-handed as there wasn't a fresh kill in the cave. There was however a bed of more skins, as well as some blankets made of perhaps wool. Along one side of the cave was a crude shelf of dried meat, nuts, and a carved one filled with honey.
But of course the occupant was likely far more fascinating. His whole head was a skull with two large horns jutting out from the top, his eyes were red and seemed glow from the dark pits of the sockets. His clothes were more animal furs. He was over eight feet tall, and, as high as the cave was, he had to stoop some so as not to knock his horns against the ceiling.
After he seemed sure Newt wasn't going to attack him or the like, he knelt down and began to get a fire going. "So tell me, who is this friend that sent you?"

After taking in the dwelling, he cast his gaze up at the man himself, face full of awe.
"You are amazing, do you know that?" Newt found himself blurting it out suddenly, as his eyes met the other man's, and then flicked away to focus on another part of the cave. "Ah, yes. My friend is Charles Xavier, a professor. He runs a home for the gifted. Like us."
Yay! Was hoping we would continue C:
A spark started easily enough and he leaned down to lightly breathe on it and get it to spread, listening to Newt.
He stood again-well, as much as the cave allowed him to- and went over to the shelf, taking a kettle and going back outside to fill it with snow.
"Like us?" He asked, then cocked his head. "I do not wish to be rude, but I think we are nothing alike." He said "You're human, I am not." He set the kettle into the fire to boil and sat down, gesturing for Newt to do the same if he liked. "Unless that's what Gifted means, non humans."
of course! sorry for the time between tags.
He watches as he moves around his den, his home, with ease and looks over the items that litter the shelves. He's made fantastic use of such an inhospitable environment for most.
"Yes, like us," he offers easily. "I'm what they have taken to calling a mutant, actually. While we may not look so much alike, I assure you I'm quite different from a normal person."
He could show him, if he wanted, but he wouldn't assume that he'd like a demonstration. He takes a seat across from him near the fire. "And yes, in regards to the school, gifted refers to non humans, or other mutants."
tis fine C:
A school for those like them. He wondered if there were any there like him, with a mutation that was truly extraordinary. Wondered if perhaps Newt was asking him to come with him to this school for the gifted. For mutants.
"What is your gift, if you don't mind my asking?" he asked, warming his dark purple and clawed hands over the fire, red eyes flicking to watch Newt.
