The Body Heat Meme

1. Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
2. Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
3. A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
4. So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
5. Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

Wow, it's super cold! I bet you've never even seen it snow in Houston, right? [ They are in a small cabin the middle of a blizzard with only one lamp, no fireplace, and a cozy bed with one blanket! But Jade is not in the bed; she has her nose pressed against the window and is currently watching the snow fall down. It is almost as tall as Jade herself.

Her teeth are chattering but SHE'S OKAY. ]

GOOD THING ROSE HAS PLENTY OF PRACTICE

Rose is currently also not in the bed, having opted to sit curled in on herself in the corner of the cabin. she's wearing a thin jacket much too light for the weather (the best winter clothing she owns) and is miserable and freezing. but like fuck is she going to let Jade know about that.

her tone is snappish, but that's nothing new.]

Once, when nature decided that punching us in the face with perpetual summer heat waves wasn't good enough. It was pretty damn stupid.

[ Jade, using years of cultivated and honed Strider acclimation skills, completely ignores the snappish tone and goes straight for the fact that Rose is telling her something honest for once.

Oh my gosh, that sounds fun! At home, Dad and I would go sledding! [ She bounces up and down a little on her toes, which are painted with at least five different colors of the rainbow all at once. And the reason you can tell this is because in addition to a wildly inappropriate summer dress with little atoms all over it, Jade is wearing green flip flops. This is totally weather appropriate and not at all in the wrong season. ]

I wonder if your lips really turn blue when you get cold... [ And just like that she realizes wow it's chilly. ] Wow, it's chilly!

[oh my god Jade it was talking about the weather don't get so damn excited. Rose rolls her eyes so hard they practically fall out of her skull behind the sunglasses and burrows even deeper into her jacket]

No shit. It's almost like it's the middle of fucking winter or something crazy like that. Maybe you should go take a nap in a snowdrift outside for a few hours just to be sure.

I'm pretty sure that sleeping in snow would only make me colder... [ But she looks like she is seriously considering it for a moment, because Rose suggested it therefore it must be a good idea on some level. Eventually she decides that, when properly dressed, she will indeed attempt to take a nap in the snowdrift. ]

Do you want to share the blanket with me? You're looking awfully cold...

[Rose is going to leave her there right up until the brink of hypothermia to teach her a lesson about sarcasm, fyi.

meanwhile in the present she shoots Jade the mother withering glance possibly in this weather.]

If I wanted to use the fucking blanket then I'd have already gone and taken the damn thing. I'm fine.

[ Jade wraps the blanket around herself in a fluffy, highly impractical toga style. She looks significantly warmer. As she does so, she does a little circular dance, perhaps meant to entice Rose into the blanket. ]

We can tell stories! It'll be my very first sleepover ever ever ever.

[Rose responds by turning so that she's facing the wall rather than Jade. suck it, girl.]

Sleepovers are a pile of vapid shit that can go fuck themselves along with braiding hair and gossiping over boys. Talk to yourself if you want one so goddamn badly, I'm not playing along.

But I've never had one! I can't judge it until I've had one, that would be rude. And you probably haven't either, right? We could make it a smartover? A smart sleepover!

A smart sleepover involves sleeping and nothing else. I've never had a sleepover before because I've never fucking wanted one, and if you do I'm sure your imaginary friends would be more than happy to pick up the slack.
