[Kevin sat down the cup in front of Jillian with a flourish.] I remembered the cream this time!

[he added proudly.]

Good job...did you remember the sugar?

[There was a split second before she realised what a bad idea that question was and threw her hands out protectively]

Wait, wait, never mind, I'll check.

[Good thing too, the cup was halfway to his lips as he set it down.]

I think I outdid myself this time, getting coffee from the nearby shop.

[He took a swig and gagged, spitting into his cup and a little over Erin's notes.]

Yep! It's good. Blah I hate coffee.

[She took a cautious sip of her own but was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually pretty good.]

We're all real proud of you.

[She grabbed the notes and shook off the excess coffee before dropping them back on the table. Erin probably wouldn't notice, even if she'd now left an oily thumbprint beside the new coffee stain]

[He was beaming at the compliment as he added,] Oh and I picked up our drycleaning too. That last bust really got slime all over the jumpsuits. I was thinking maybe we could, I dunno, get some more I mean, Erin's coming back with so much slime on her...

Oh that, that was yesterday. Today is puppy herding today. I'm just stopping by after dropping off the books.
