Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [Hmm. Bit of a split personality type/torn desires. They're matched there. Well, assumed cr is probably best for a meme like this, so we could have had them work together a few times. Not for Hydra on her end, since she doesn't really do affiliations, but if he had things he needed and put it in just the right way to get her to get it for him, that could work. [He feels at home in Gotham. More then he might be willing to admit since SHIELD. Nobody asks questions here and since his independent career has launched - selling your skills to the highest bidder works better here then it does anywhere else. Nobody judges here, or if they do they have the good grace to keep it to themselves and there's always...

Probably one of the better contacts he's made in his quest to find himself, so to speak. Not to mention that she's one of the best damn cat burglars in the business and his new venture - the business of information and making sure he has as many of Coulson's pals in the senate in his pocket - requires a partner unafraid to get her claws dirty. He may have been Garrett's dog, SHIELD's dog, even Coulson's dog for a brief period but he's learned enough tricks to please this kitty.

Still there's always an element of danger. Which is fine. He's got scars on his back from their last encounter and while they dance in and out of each other's lives they're both realistic. Their worlds don't end with fairy tales and happy endings. The Planet robbery proves that. The oustanding warrant from Amanda Waller for him proves that. There's no white picket fence, no pets, he just turns up with a list of names of men he wants her to steal from and diamonds, emeralds, and pearls by way of payment.

You and I both know information's a better currency then treasure. Though I have to admit. It's got it's perks.

He's thinking about that necklace. He's thinking about how badly he needs her to make a scene at Senator Gregg's ball tomorrow night and how many people he's going to have to kill to make the man his but he's mostly thinking about the woman in the claw footed tub and how this is as close to peace as he's gotten in awhile.]

Sometimes I think about staying in Gotham for awhile. The city seems warmer every time I visit.

[Better then a lot of places he's been. He's stripped out of his shirt awhile ago, sitting on the edge of the great big tub.]

[She never really minded doing dirty work. Her suit kept most of her clean, regardless of what muck and mire she had to crawl through, or how much blood got spilled when some idiot got in her way. And if all else failed, there was post-job clean ups. And what she got from her excursions made the fuss worth it. It didn't hurt that she liked to enjoy a long soak now and then. That myth that cats hated water never really reached the bigger breeds, and Selina considered herself just so.

She might not agree with Grant's ideals, or his goals, but as long as whatever he was aiming for didn't affect her or those she cared about (namely her four-legged friends), she couldn't care less. Money was money. She scratched his back, and he gave her things she could fence. It was a win-win.

It didn't hurt that he wasn't hard on the eyes. He, like another man she knew, kept himself in shape. Cleaned himself up and looked good as a result. Sometimes those payments came with a little tumble now and then, a way for her to get rid of that itch that crawled under her skin. She wondered if tonight was going to fall under one of those times.

Her leg lifted up out of the water, her hand smoothing down over it as she talked to the water, not looking at him, as if he wasn't quite worth her attention yet.]

Global warming has that effect. So does showing up in June.
