Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? [ The battle had been long and hard; worse than some and not as bad as others. After it's end, Michiru had earned her fair share of scrapes and bruises; aches and pains. So when she had arrived home, there was really only one place that she wanted to be, the bathtub. In her apartment the bathroom was a favorite spot as it was a luxurious space. The tub itself was large and deep and the perfect space for soothing away exhaustion and battle wounds. Around the bathroom were tall windows that let in the moonlight and gave view to the few stars that made their way through city lights. There was no embarrassment with large windows when you could afford the luxury of being so high up. It was definitely the only place in the world she wanted to be in that moment.

Within minutes steam was rising from the soaking tub as she poured in an assortment of scented oils that were fragrant of the ocean itself. Dressed back in her street clothes, she worked to peel off her dress. Her partner was momentarily in the other room, though she had a feeling she would be joined soon. ]

[ Her own muscles felt like they were on fire. While she had tried to put up a brave front, the moment that Michiru had stepped into the bathroom, Haruka had all but deflated. There was a particularly sharp pain in her right side and as she went to carefully remove her shirt, she hissed as the rather dark bruise came into sight. That wasn't going to be any good. She knew that a hot bath was exactly what she needed, to get the muck and grime off of her, and to aid the rapidly healing injuries.

Still, it took her several minutes to get out of the rest of her own clothing, an audible groan coming from the bedroom as she bent over to remove her trousers. She thought about lying down in the bed and forgetting about it, but the appeal of being in the warm water with an equally warm body against her won out.

The door creaked as she pushed it open just enough to slip inside, just in time to watch Michiru wriggle out of her own dress. A smile tugged at the edge of her lips as she snuck up behind her, going to undo the clasp of her bra without any hesitation. ]

[She had felt the presence of her lover as soon as she had entered the room, even though her back was turned. She did not expect the clasp of her bra to be undone, though she supposed she should have. Despite the pain she was in, she let the bra fall seductively down her arms before slipping her underwear off as well. Though her dress and slip were set nicely to the side, she was not quite as graceful with the under garments. She pushed those aside with her foot, before turning around and looking at Haruka.

She supposed to she should be used to seeing bruises on her partner's body, but it was never something she could adjust to. Her own torso and limbs were decked with healing wounds, so they ultimately matched. Still, it was in her nature to worry more about the other woman than herself. Reaching out, she tenderly touched the bruise, a worried look in her eyes.] No broken bones, so that's good.

[At this point the water had risen to fill the bath just enough to avoid an overflow when they added their weight to it.]
