The Body Heat Meme

1. Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
2. Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
3. A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
4. So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
5. Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[Yes, he's complaining. He has a right to complain. What kind of building doesn't have a working heater in the middle of winter? Needing to get away doesn't require staying in a crappy cabin, they could have shacked up in some nice lodge. But she wanted a change of pace, and he got that, definitely got that, before the power had gone out.

No cell signal, middle of nowhere, and he can't just fly them out of here because Pepper will freeze. He can't just leave her here to go fly around in a blizzard blindly looking for another cabin or house or whatever is out here because she'll freeze alone.]

C'mere, there's a blanket.

[A kind of gross one, in comparison to the blankets he normally has but it will have to do. He'd been rummaging around in a small chest beside the couch, and he pulls the blanket out and then pats the spot next to him.]

The cabin seemed sturdy enough even if it looked like it'd been deserted for awhile. The roof and walls were solid and it kept out the snow. Too bad it looked like whoever had lived there before had taken almost everything of use. Worse, Peggy had been caught in the storm with him when she should be somewhere safe and warm, not trapped in the snow with him.

Sighing, he shook his head at the thought. She'd probably punch him for that, but despite knowing that she take care of herself, he hated the idea that she was caught in the cold with him. "Uh - it looks like we should be safe for now."

[ It's hard for two powerful secret organizations with similar goals to coexist without bumping into each other now and then - especially when that goal is keeping the world safe from threats it isn't entirely prepared for. It was unusual, however, for an agent from each to end up in a situation like this.

Peering out the window of the rickety shack the two had stumbled upon, Sousuke tried to squint through the rapidly falling snow as he recalled just how this had happened. The mission he'd been tasked with was a relatively simple one. There was supposedly an illegal weapons facility in the Siberian Tundra, manufacturing devices that were years ahead of their time to be sold to exactly the kind of people that shouldn't have them. He had been sent in for basic recon: determine if the facility was online, how long it would be before it was ready to begin shipping, and who was responsible for the operation. Normally an easy in-and-out, it had become a little more complicated when he found out it was actually a trap - the facility was empty but brimming with remote explosives, and how he'd escaped the detonation was a miracle he wouldn't question.

He was, however, a little more curious about the woman he'd found who also survived the explosion - namely why she was there to begin with. An approaching blizzard had cut the soon-to-be interrogation short, however, and they instead moved to a small shack just out of the blast range of the booby-trapped facility, where they remained for the time being. It wasn't warm, but at least it was dry, and stable enough to endure the storm until it passed.

Satisfied that there were no enemy forces coming to check their handiwork for now, he turned from the window to face the stranger on the opposite side of the room, arms folded over his chest with a stern frown.

... not that he didn't normally have a stern frown, but regardless. ]

[They're stuck out in the middle of the wilderness, having been turned around by fog and rain. He'd thought to pack a good cloak, even though the sun was bright without a cloud in the sky that morning, but really, it's not doing much. Still, he's offered it to you first.]

[Karkat didn't know what celestial deity he pissed off to be stuck in this situation, but here he was. Stuck out in the middle of grubfuck nowhere, with a human-- no, wait, hobbit, fuck, they all looked the same to the troll-- with what felt like freezing temperatures, fog, and rain. Yes, this was exactly how he wanted to spend his time, freezing to death in cold weather like this.]

[Under normal circumstances he wouldn't even be in contact with any humans or humanoids, because of the fact that they liked to kill anything that didn't look like them. Unfortunately, trolls didn't exactly fall under that same category. Karkat wasn't about to deny that he would probably be on the other end of this guy's blade had he not been an outcast to his own race. For once he was mildly grateful for his rare, mutant crimson blood in his veins; the other trolls saw him as off the hemospectrum and therefore ripe for culling, but the humans pitied him enough to let him live as a guide for this particular part of tough wilderness.]

[He had his own cloak as well, though it was probably worse protection than the one the... hobbit had with him, so he was sitting a couple paces away from him, arms crossed over his chest and doing his best to keep his teeth from chattering. The troll eyed the cloak suspiciously before glaring at Frodo.]

[Loki hates this place. He hates it with all of his being. Supposedly this is Jotunheim's winter, but who can really tell? The planet is too far away from its star ever to feel its heat anyway. It's a planet that never thaws. Hence the great, windy ice fields all around him.

And yet... he's not cold. Not even chilly. He has never felt cold in Asgard either, no, but at least his city has sun and true seasons. He can tell the difference then. When it's meant to be cold. Here, in this dark and desolate place... it's like he's insulated. Barred somehow from the elements. All of the old warriors who fought by their father's side in the last great wars say that one has never felt cold until one spends time on Jotunheim... What's wrong with him?

He's so wrapped up in his own angst as they sit in their makeshift lair in a ruined and abandoned watch tower for the night that he does not even notice what his brother is doing.]

( Who knew Midgard could become so cold? There Sigyn sits, at the very edge of the pier overlooking the Hudson River. Midgard is a beautiful and strange place, she thinks, dirtier than anticipated - but since Loki was so keen to be its ruler (and Thor himself had grown so fond of its people), then she could possibly grow accustomed to the idea of being at his side here.

She shivers to herself and leans back against the bench, watching the last ferries roll by as the sun lowers just beyond the horizon. )
