mistletoe meme .

the mistletoe meme
Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... T'is the season-- almost. And it looks like you got stuck right under that mistletoe with someone else. And you both can't move until you kiss one another (Of course, not specifying where that kiss needs to happen).
RULES:
»POST with your character and their canon.
»SPECIFY Prefs, if any.
»TAG around and have fun!
Kylo Ren | Star Wars
kylo ren's favorite person in the whole galaxy
But, not all Bad. Not completely and totally. There's a smidgeon of Not Bad hiding in this guy somewhere, Luke can feel that too. (Aggressive goober mode: probably activated. Sorry, buddy.)
Inhale, exhale, try to look polite. Friendly. Non-threatening. Don't reach for the lightsaber.]
Nice... mask.
[This isn't awkward at all.]
Star Wars: Really just a space soap opera
And Force, he looks young. Kylo, like most people, has a certain image he keeps of people he's known in his mind's eye. Luke is a bearded old man to him. To think of him, especially at an age younger than he himself is, well, his mind is having trouble trying to adjust to the concept.]
Luke Skywalker.
worst family in the universe tbh
Unlike Kylo Ren, he's got nothing to hide behind, and honestly he'd find a way to emote through a full face mask, so. His expression scrunches slightly, and his eyes dart off to the side then back to the man under the mistletoe with him. It's not easy to pick out intention or emotion behind voice modulators.
But it's not like he pulled out his lightsaber yet either so this can still work, maybe. Think happy thoughts.]
Do I know you?
no subject
But where would the satisfaction be in the act if Luke doesn't even know who he is? There's barely contained fury as he answers.]
Not yet. [Then he ominously adds:] But you will.

Luke doesn't miss the suffocating roll of emotions, and his palm itches to find the hilt of his lightsaber. It's nothing like facing Vader, whose feelings were almost... utilitarian. Icy cold anger honed like any other weapon, or practically nothing (more machine than man, Ben said) - except for the tiny glimmer of hope tucked beneath the surface, that he resented.
Alright, maybe this one isn't so different after all. He does his best to squeeze the impatient farmboy whine about of his voice, but a little of it probably makes it through.]
Alright, how about you start with your name?
no subject
[He knows none of that will mean anything to Luke, not for another thirty years or so. It still gives him a sense of pride to say it. He wishes there was a way to dampen that light that Luke practically radiates, all full of hope and righteous nature.]
What are you doing here, Jedi?
[Time travel was supposed to be impossible, but Kylo Ren has seen a lot of impossible things during his lifetime. This is just another one checked off of a long list.]
no subject
Then again, does he want to know? A squeezing feeling in his gut warns him that he really, really doesn't. (He ignores it. He's one-for-one so far, after all!)]
Same thing you are: having a conversation. [You know, and stalling for time. Trying to worm his way beneath that big old mask full of defenses before the mistletoe lets them both go.] Nothing wrong with that, is there? [This is not how bluffing works, Luke.]
no subject
[There's just a small shard of Ben Solo somewhere inside the rage and pain that make up Kylo Ren. It's just a little bit of light left, a flame that stubbornly refuses to go out, no matter what he tries to do. Though he would die before admitting it, just being in close proximity with his uncle makes that flame grow brighter. The temptation to go back into the light is a strong one.]
You look so young. [He can't help but remark. There's a certain absurdity in being faced with Luke when he's even younger than Kylo currently is. He's as he was in all those stories his mother and father had told him as a child: the farmboy who became the last of the Jedi.]
no subject
It's probably just the wash of emotions: constrained, yes, but only physically. Ben used to talk about having been impatient and reckless, at Luke's age, and god knows Luke's got a habit of letting his own feelings get the best of him, but it's something he's working on. He's still very much a far cry from the serene Jedi master he hopes one day to become, the kind that Obi Wan Kenobi had been.]
You don't need the mask to live, do you? [He knows that Vader had, but it had been audibly regulating his breathing. Luke can't hear anything of the sort, coming from Kylo Ren's suit.]
no subject
No. It's meant to honor the legacy of Lord Vader. [If Luke could've backed away, now would've been a good time to. Don't Kylo get started on his grandfather. They'll be here all day.]
no subject
Probably not a problem for someone who embraces the dark side, sure, but then wouldn't the fact that he'd destroyed the Emperor and come back to the light would prevent him from becoming an object of adulation?
Maybe this Kylo Ren doesn't know that. Maybe it can help, while he's here grasping at straws anyway.] You remind me of him, you know.
no subject
His head comes up sharply and he's staring hard at Luke, a gaze that transcends the immobile mask. He's been told before that he's like Vader. It's always in a negative context: that he was arrogant, impatient, hot-tempered. He would've preferred to take after him in other areas: his strength and power.]
How so?

Not that she's about to complain, of course, the little sprig of greenery catching her entirely off-guard. ] Well, this is certainly unexpected.
no subject
What is it? [He's had no experience with mistletoe before. Kylo wouldn't have even noticed the plant except for the fact it's preventing him from leaving this spot. It certainly was powerful.]
no subject
[ Her gaze drops, settling on him now, a crooked grin tugging at the corner of her mouth. ] Somehow I didn't expect the Forces of galactic order and stability to be quite so festive.

What on earth are you doing?

[He stops after his latest failed attempt. This clearly isn't working. Time for a new solution.]

[ Unease settles in the pit of her stomach. She tries to move, to step back -- he has a temper, has admitted as much with all the arrogance of someone accustomed to getting their way -- and it's like hitting a wall, the force jolting through her spine.
She curses loudly, green eyes narrowing, her earlier humor vanishing like early morning mist. ] Right.
no subject
Do you have any ideas? [Evie is a bright woman and seems to have had more experience than him in dealing with mistletoe. He's willing to let her take the lead for the moment.]

She makes a motion to come closer, as if apart to impart a dreadful secret. With any luck it'll all be over quickly, before things can get anymore awkward than they already have. ] Bear with me. [ Once he's close enough she'll lean up on her tip-toes -- he really is absurdly tall, easily as tall as her brother, if not more -- and presses a quick kiss to where his cheek would likely be, were he not currently wearing a mask. ]
Try to move now.
no subject
[Whatever he's expecting her to do, it certainly isn't that. Kylo's never more grateful to be wearing a mask then at moments when emotions show clearly on his face. Were Evie able to see, she'd be witness to the dark knight in a state of surprise and shock, almost as if she had kissed his real face. He automatically backs up and is absurdly grateful to be free of the mistletoe's spell.]
This will teach me not to underestimate the power of plants.
no subject
All right?
no subject
I'm fine.
[And indeed, one can practically see that his shields are back up around himself as he straightens his shoulders. That small gesture says more than any words ever could.]
