1. Friendly hug - this person is your good pal, and you just wanna give them a fond squeeze to let them know.

2. Romantic hug - you just want to be closer, so wrap your arms around them, maybe rub their back some...

3. Bear hug - maybe you haven't seen them in a while, so how about a giant hug that lifts them off their feet

4. Hug from behind - surprise them, guess who?! or maybe they're having a bad day, cheer them up.

5. Awkward hug - maybe it's on accident, but whatever the case is, you can't help but feel a little nervous about hugging them.

[It's still summer before their senior year and they're practically going out every night. Sometimes they're just doing stuff as friends, sometimes it's doing stuff as more than that, and sometimes Santana has a hard time telling the difference between the two.

Tonight is definitely one of their 'yeah this is a date' nights, and as they're walking out of the movie theatre, Santana gets the overwhelming urge to hold Brittany's hand as they walk, or tug her back and kiss her there in the middle of everyone...but she can't. Not yet.

So instead she settles for wrapping her arms around Brittany's waist as they stand next to her car, and hugs her tight. She hates that this is the best she can do right now.]

[Honestly Brittany's just enjoying spending time with her best friend in the whole world. Yeah, she enjoys their occasional lady kisses but she really does just enjoy spending time with her because damn does she know how to have fun! That's what summer's all about, right?

Brittany still doesn't know if she likes guys or girls or both...it was all just a little too confusing for her. All she knows is that she loves Santana. As a friend or something more who knows but Britt doesn't really make that distinction. Love is love after all.

And are you kidding a hug is more than enough! Britt loves hugs! She giggles and wraps her arms back around Santana] You're so soft and...huggable, S! Huggable...that's a word right? Right.

Yeah, B. Huggable is a word.

[She's mumbling into Brittany's shoulder. She doesn't care if it's a word or not- she doesn't really know- but right now all she cares about is how Brittany's arms feel around her.

Damn, she's got it bad.

Santana just turns her head, and presses her forehead against Brittany's neck.]

I knew it! See, I am smart.

[She still has her arms wrapped tightly around Santana, swaying a little from side to side as they stand there. It was cold outside and this was definitely helping to keep her warm.

Britt just giggles a little as Santana's breath tickles her neck] Santana, that tickles!

Yeah, you are.

[She chuckles, blowing another stream of air at Brittany's neck before pressing a feather light kiss there]

[Yay! She's smart!

She tilts her head to the side as she starts to press light kisses to her neck] You know I love your lady kisses, S.

I know.

[Santana pulls her head away enough to look around to make sure no one was listening before mumbling:] I love you.

[It's quiet, still unsure. Like a secret just between them both]

[Britt's smile grows wider at that if that was even possible. She also squeezes Santana a little tighter. Brittany has no reservations about what she wants to say and doesn't keep quiet in the slightest]

I love you too, Santana. Always have, always will.

[Santana ignored the small feeling of panic that someone heard Brittany, and instead just enjoyed the moment.

She keeps her head resting on Brittany's shoulder and smiles.]

[Of course no one heard. Everyone else is busy laughing with friends or in the own coupled groups. So she has nothing to worry about. Britt giggles, keeping her arm around her]

You know, I didn't know I liked girls. I guess I like both.

[Santana's grip tightened around Brittany. She can't help but be a little possessive, especially when Brittany talks about 'liking' people that aren't necessarily her]

But i'm your favourite, right?

[Britt doesn't notice the possessiveness she just sees that as an invitation to squeeze Santana tighter too. She nods her head quite a bit at that question]

Of course you're my favorite. And you always will be. Forever and always.

Good.

[She can't help that it came out more like a sigh of relief. Santana's still new at all of this- feelings, genuine relationships, being happy. It's nice to get the reassurance that she isn't messing anything up]

[She pulls back from the hug to look at Santana, grin still in place] Yeah, you don't have to worry about that. Ever.

[And then she looks around and starts to giggle a little to herself] I think we're starting to get a bit of attention. People are staring.

[Santana smiles at her sheepishly, slowly removing her arms from around her.

But then she jumps back abruptly, flushing a little as she looks around to check] They are?

[Brit is going to look a little confused as Santana jumps back from her. Did she do something wrong? Say something wrong? She takes a look around at some of the people near them]

They were glancing...is something wrong, S? Did I do something wrong?

Nothing- no. You didn't do anything wrong.

[Santana exhales sharply through her nose, and stops herself from retreating back behind her walls. She needs to be stronger. She needs to learn to be okay with this. Her voice is stronger as she timidly steps closer to Brittany again]

Nothing's wrong.

You promise? Because I don't like it when I do things wrong. Especially when it involves me and you.

[Oh yay, more hugs? She can definitely deal with that. She giggles a little, wrapping her arms around her again]

You need lots of hugs today don't you, S? I like it.

[Santana nodded] I promise. You didn't do anything wrong.

[She just leans against Brittany. She snuck her hands under Brittany's jacket and rests them against her sides. She's just keeping them warm, okay. It's cold out]

Me too.

[Relief washes over her at those words and she nods]

Good!

[Mhmm, just keeping warm. Suuure. Britt doesn't care either way though honestly she just wants to be close to her girl. She rests her head on Santana's shoulder and sneaks a small kiss to the other girl's neck]

[There's a satisfied hum in the back of her throat. She can't help it, not around Brittany.]

So, uh, do you wanna go back to mine? I'm pretty sure we have hot chocolate...or whatever.

[It's annoying that a simple question can make her so nervous to ask]

[Britt doesn't even notice the nervousness, she's a little excited about the prospect of hot chocolate. Oh and going back to Santana's place. She grins and grabs her and dragging her closer to the car]

You had me at hot chocolate!

[Santana assumes that's a yes and lets Brittany drag her where she wants. She fumbles to get the car keys from her pocket and matches her grin]

Awesome.

[She unlocks the car with a press of the button on the key]

Get in.
