ways to show affection When it comes to the way affection is shown, everyone has a different way they go about it. That means that there's a pretty good chance, with regards to couples, you could end up with two people who have two varying approaches towards how they prove they care...sometimes radically varying, which can lead to more than a little confusion or hurt feelings if there's not proper communication. But when both people are on the same page, they can tell each other how they feel with few words. ☄ Comment with your character, info, prefs, and how your character will likely show affection. ☄ Reply to others. ☄ Thread, my dears! ☆ WORDS: Sweet affirmations, pet names, even ☆ CUDDLES: Hugs, nuzzles, the works. ☆ KISSING: On the check or on the lips. ☆ KINDNESS: Always there for them. ☆ PROVIDING: Providing care, providing protection, providing financially. ☆ GENTLE...ER: Your only weak spot. ☆ MEANNESS: Straight up tsundere. ☆ GIFTS: All the pretty things. ☆ ACTIONS: Visits, taking care of their problems, taking them out, and more. ☆ SUBTLE: A distant sort of affection, but they know. ☆ [ WILDCARD ]

[ look he doesn't do this all that often, at least not out of the blue, in the middle of the day, but... eddie steps up to roland and puts his arms around his waist from behind, pressing his head against his shoulder blade. ]

Hey.

[tet]

( a little noise startles out of him, something like a hyup, and he hovers eddie's hands with his own, letting out a wee huff of amusement. )

Hile to you.

[whittling]

( eddie's hand rests flat at roland's stomach, and he laughs a little at the sound he makes, kissing his shoulder through his shirt. )

Did I scare you?

[tet]

A little.

( only a gunslinger could get the drop on another gunslinger. even if it's you know, a very gentle sort of drop. one hand rests on the hand over his stomach, comforted by the touch, and the other picks up eddie's opposite hand and kisses his palm. )

[whittling]

Uh huh.

( eddie can't help but flick at roland's nose lightly when roland is done kissing his palm, pressing his lips at his shoulder again so roland can feel him smile. )

What're you up to that's much more important than me.

[tet]

( snorts. laces his fingers with eddie's tugs them away from his face, stop that. he turns his head, attempting to look over his shoulder. )

Nothing is.

[whittling]

( a thoughtful hum as he leans back to tilt his head and watch roland. )

You're gonna have to convince me.

[tet]

( is he now! roland peels eddie's hands away from him and turns in his arms, looking down at him. he reaches with his whole hand to push the long flop of hair out of eddie's face and tuck it behind his ear, and then he kisses him. convinced yet? )

[whittling]

( the hair tuck thing is. nice. the kiss is a nice start, too, and eddie's hand rests at the curve of his neck and shoulder, thumb at his collarbone. )

[tet]

( eddie eats up affection like he's starved of it, which somehow, in turn, draws it out of roland, who finds himself less creaky and cold since eddie came into his life. his shoulders have to hunch a little to kiss him, but he does, open-mouthed and sweet, fingers cupping his jaw. )

[whittling]

( eddie can't help but smile into it. he doesn't think he'll ever tire of kissing him.

even if he has to lift himself up on his toes just a bit to make it easier on him. )

[tet]

( roland hums, kisses eddie sweetly on the mouth, once, twice, and then - of all things - nuzzles his face against eddie's, beard rubbing against his jaw and cheek. )

[whittling]

What're you doing... [ but he's kind of laughing as he speaks, giving roland's hair a playful pull. ]

[tet]

What's it look like, hm? Hey. ( kisses eddie's cheek. resumes nuzzling. )

[whittling]

[ absolutely not complaining. ]

You're gonna leave scratches all over my face.

[tet]

( every so often, ever so rarely, roland gets struck down with the need to be...soft. affectionate. his ka-tet brings it out in him more than most. he kisses eddie's jaw next. he huffs at eddie in a manner that translates to, you can handle it. )

[whittling]

Jake's gonna ask me why I wrestled Oy again.

[ now he's just doing this on purpose. his fingers tangle in roland's hair, not pulling this time, and he turns his face so roland can keep kissing at his jaw. ]

[tet]

( roland actually lets out a laugh at that, a little one, barely more than a huff of breath against eddie's skin. he likes the fingers in his hair. it's a quiet motivation for not cutting it, as rare a consideration as that is. he hums, teeth so gently (dare i say playfully) nipping. he's not entirely sure how he manages to indulge and ignore eddie's sense of the ridiculous at the same time, but he's doing it. )

[whittling]

Don't think I'm complaining, but what's gotten into you?

[ hoo, it's nice, so he's definitely not complaining. keep doing that or you'll get an earful, roland. ]

[tet]

You wanted me to convince you.

( what's into him is that he's into eddie. kisses and worries at eddie's pulse. )

[whittling]

You're doing a pretty good job.

[ his hand settles at his waist, pushing up roland's shirt to touch his skin. ]

[tet]

Hmm, thankee-sai.

( an excess of nuzzles. he really loves this man. eddie's own softness is infectious, honestly, and roland hums happily at the fingers nudging against his skin and nips the line of eddie's jaw. nothing that leaves a mark, only a teasing graze of his teeth. )

[whittling]

[ eddie's hand slips up and back, up along roland's back. his fingers pass over the familiar scars as he sighs contentedly. he can't deny he loves this kind of attention and affection. ]
